I'm looking to upgrade the security in my '03 CL-S. I have been looking around and have found a few threads with instructions for installing a shock sensor but they all seem to have bad links. Does anyone still have these? Also, any recommendations for type of sensor to install? I would like to prevent someone from getting in through my window (breaking it first of course). Thanks.

I deleted the PM but I sent it out to a few members.
Follow the instructions in the FAQ link. Shock sensor doesn't matter much. You can use a dual stage but will have to splice together the 2 trigger wires. I used a DEI stinger I got on Ebay.
Here's a pic. Click the link & view it full size. There are 2 red circles I drew. The top circle is around the back fuse panel area where you use a fuse tap to get the 12V power you need. The lower left hand corner is the wire tap around the yellow with silver dots wire you need to use as the trigger wire. Run the ground to a screw on the frame somewhere.

Thanks for the advice on the sensor. I tried that FAQ link but all i could find was bad links. Silverknight still had some instructions but only one of the pictures works. I don't want to start splicing into things without having some good instructions. Does anyone else have some?

Well, the instructions (even old) are accurate, the pic I provided shows the 2 things you need to tap into.

I would also like to wire an led indicating the alarm is set (also making it look like there is an aftermarket alarm installed). Any idea what wire carries this signal?

Goto RadioShack and buy a blinking 12V LED and wire to to any always on power connection. You could even get some fuse taps (like $1 for a pack of 12 at RadioShack) so you don't even have to splice any wires.

I thought about that but I would rather wire it to a signal that is only on when the alarm is armed. I think a flashing LED would be a bit annoying when driving at night.

Very true. Actually RadioShack use to sell a kit with a flashing LED like your looking for. Then again that was back in 1998-2000 when I worked there. Cost about $4.99 for it and only came on when the car was off. You could always take a look at a Hayes or Chiltons manual and see where the wire for the door alarm indicator light runs and tap that one?

That's exactly what i'm looking for. If I could find the door indicator light i could just use a regular LED. I already have one installed nicely on my dash. The previous owner of my car must have had an aftermarket alarm installed. Any idea how i could get my hands on or download a manual? Or does anyone have one they could use to look this up?

Ok, I spent a few good hours trying to figure out how to make this work. The sensor is working, (green light with slight tap and red on harder) but it does nothing to the alarm. I tryed both yellow wires (yellow and yellow w/ red stripe) in that pic as shown (plug in back of fuse box). Is there something I'm missing.

Yellow with silver dots. You likely don't have the correct wire. Or the taps are not crimped enough to hit the wire.
Try also hitting the window at the side door frame. This should set it off.

Thanks Fuzzy, I will try it again wed. I was on the yellow wire (they all had the silver dots) If at first you don't succed, try and try again. It might have been the conection with the splice like you said. I will stop at a car stereo store and see if they have any smaller connectors. Thanks for the info. I'll let you know if it works.

I want to thank everyone for the info that I was able to find. I got the shock sensor hooked up and still have the chirp. Works great! Fuzzy, you were right, again. It was the connection.
