Rotora slotted rotor update 35K miles
Thought I give a brake update on this setup.
Rotated my tires this morning. Checked my brakes. Seems I'm going to need new front brakes. I had the Rotora setup on my car for 35K miles now. No warpage or other problems. Using satisfied ceramic pads. The rears look to be at about 50%.
The rotors look used however. The area the pads don't touch are heavily rusted looking. The slot cuts are even rusted looking. The rotor screws look like they may be a PITA to take out. I know it's normal & to be expected.
Going to see if my shop can cut the rotors. The guy is good & I seen him cut drilled rotors before. Then all I need is new pads.
Overall I am happy with the setup's performance.

Cool. Good luck with getting the rotors cut.
As far as the rotor screws go, I dont even use them. They serve no purpose.

Missing my
Yeah, I have 45k miles on my Rotoras and they still haven't warped. To be honest, I was expecting a little, but I couldn't be happier with this brand! I'm putting on Akebono pads in a week.

Good to hear. I was actually considering getting a set of Rotora slotted rotors when the brakes I have now start to go south. Any particular pad I should look into, either brand or material-wise?

I am not sure how this has happened but I have about 60k miles on my Rotora / Akebono pads. The car passed inspection 5 mos. ago also. I have not a clue on how this setup has lasted me so long.

It all depends on how you drive. The original brakes on my Mazda 3 lasted 94K miles. Whenever I took my car in for service, they give you the 5000 point inspection and my brakes were always marked green, 65% life remaining.

k aren't rotora rotors like 4-500 easily??
why not just get urself some dba's?
they've been a life saver for my ride.
I bent the shyt out of my stock rotors, then my next set. and now these dba's are next level, IMHO
Oh and FYI, i've done brakes like 6 times on my car and every I used my drill on tq mode (slow mode in reverse) and those screws snap right off.
I I put them on with the drill in tq mode, so they are ON there hardcore. I'm sure any mechanic would do the exact same thing. NEVER use hand scre drivers for this as you will STRIP the screw usually. Drill is necessary for that initial quick thrust which you cannot get by hand which is what crack the screw loose. (this is where DeWalt really shines :-))
don't pay a dime!!! to do ur rotors.
If I did i'd be out 1000 already.

K maybe the ones I wa looking at were different. cause I priced it out at 450 minimum with shipping. then taxes and duties..
dba's were $338.98 in my hands. <--- which was lower than i could find anywhere online.
dba doesn't make rears or else i'd get them... i went with ebc's
If these warp... i'll go to rotora, but so far i like them a lot... and they look GOOD too

i just put everything back where it originally goes... everything.
like i said the screws are BUTTER if u got any sort of power tool and the right size bit.. (no right sized bit, you could create a nightmare by stripping the screw with a power tool and wrong size.)
that wouldn't be a fun one
