Replacing Brakes

Ok so am waiting to get my brakes from Exelerate and then I will be replacing them my self (with some help) soon. I am not that knowlegable on cars and have never done this. I can't seem to find a do it yourself on the brakes and rotors for the second gen cl. So any help or advise will be appreciated.

are you just replacing the pads? or both the pads and the rotors? Heres a DIY found on Google (most cars are similar when it comes to changing brake components)

That'll get you through the brake pads themselves. Easy breezy.

I'm sure a search on "rotors" will turn up plenty of help on swapping them out.

Hardest part are the screws that hold the rotors on. You'll likely need a light touch & heavy hand or an impact screwdriver to get them off without striping them & having to drill them out.

2nd hardest are the caliper bolts. Sometimes they can be really tight.

After that it's cake.

Hope so I am extremely excited to finally be rid of this nasty vibration whenever I brake.

I just did my rear pads tonight. It took about an hour. You need to have a caliper tool to make it easy.

Make sure you break in the new setup properly. Speed up to about 60 mph and slow down to about 10 mph starting with light pressure and moving up to moderate pressure by about the 8th time. Allow the brakes to cool. Be easy on the brakes for the first few hundred miles. No hard braking; try not to engage ABS. And no 120mph-0 stops. Obviously if you have to stop you stop but you risk damaging the rotors.
