Possible New Mod??
Update:
The engine is currently being rebuilt.
First issue to come up - metal chunks in the tranny fluid. The tranny has always been notchy seen I bought the car. My brothers brand new Accord did the same thing, so I thought it was just the normal J series 6MT. Ive also had some high rpm 1-2 shift grinds, so the synchros are probably toast. So now the tranny is being rebuilt.
Second issue - I found out why I was having idle issues.
One of the bolts holding the rear dampener bracket to the motor backed out completely (dont know how). When the motor torqued back and forth, it moved more then usual due to the dampener not being able to do its job.
That caused the ECU to step in and try to adjust the front mount.
The problem was, when I poly-filled my mounts, I forgot to connect the vacuum line to it
So, in short, Im a fucking retard that caused a vacuum leak because I forgot to do something.
MORAL OF THE STORY - Make sure the front mount vacuum line is connected properly if you suspect a vacuum leak.
That would explain the loss of power, plus my spark plugs were total shit. As I said, the motor is getting rebuilt, along with the motor. I should have it back sometime next week, and it should be better then new.

Yea, my mount bracket didnt actually break, the bolts backed out or the rear dampener bracket.
I use a torque wrench on everything bolt I tighten on my car. I tighten it down to factory specs. He said alot of bolts (even the lug nuts
) were loose. So Ive got to get my torque wrench re-spec'd.
Heres some pictures he sent over to me:

It should hopefully be ready for pickup Wednesday. We had a little issue with some parts not fitting correctly. Its all good now though

Its still going.
I dropped the car off with Paul last Wednesday morning. He had everything torn down Thursday. Tore down the tranny on Friday, then rebuilt it Saturday and PnP'd the heads and lower intake runners. The car wouldve been done yesturday but we had a little issue with the KMS valve spring retainers. They were causing the springs to sit about 3.5mm lower then they should have, so a call to KMS today got everything straightened out. Hopefully we should have the retainers tomorrow.
More pictures (sorry gnuts):

I cant wait to get it back, but that break-in period is going to be torture.
And yes, the snail in my avatar is going on the car sometime in mid/late January
Im still planning on dynoing it right after break in. Im going to do 3 runs with the 09 TL intake w/ 70mm throttle body, 3 with the stock Type S intake w/ 70mm throttle body, and possible 3 with the 09 TL intake and an 80mm throttle body, just to prove a point I made a few days ago.
BTW, if anyone knows of any wrecked 7th or 8th gen Accord V6 6MTs or 3rd gen TLs, please let me know. I need a connector on the engine harness.

The KMS retainers dont play nice with the stock springs as far as I know. No big deal, Paul had a set of KMS springs on hand so now Ive got them too!

You can still boost the 3.6. Im going to run a modest 7psi, with the possibility of raising it to 10psi if I feel inclined to do so. Paul and spoke at great lenghts about this. Originally I was just going to do the boosted 3.5l, but there wasnt a big enough price difference to warrant it, plus the 3.6 can still handle the boost so I decided to go for it.
Im hoping to put around 290hp at the wheels on motor. Im hoping for at least 410hp at the wheels at 7psi (should be attainable with a safe tune).
3.7 crank IIRC, Ill clarify though when I pick it up.

I dont feel comfortable posting that. No offense, but I just dont want to give people a base price for his work.
Ill say this though, it was more then getting the timing belt replaced.

Huh,not comfortable posting that.???????/ I'm not asking you to unraviel personal info.
I was interested and seeing what he charges, you know ,search around for good deals.
But I can understand why you would feel uncomfortable about the price, Not. starting to believe you might be a little paranoid.

You might think if you were responsible for sending the man buis then it would make for beter deals for everyone including yourself next time you were back getting more work done.
Its all good thou, just wanted to see what your mechanic was charging.
Its got to be either really high or really low.
And if your not comfortable it must be really high.
Civic's mechanic : "I'm a low budget mechanic but I over charge".Pay me....

It is NVA-AV6. For the work he does, its a damn good price. He knows what the hell hes doing. I trust him, and so do many other people.
Im not posting a price because there are too many variables, and its his business so I am not in position to advertise his pricing. PM him if you want to "shop around".

You should be able to run low boost on this. I would be cautious with 10 or more psi. I think this engine is capable of much more if the engine was resleeved and forged internals. I think this set up can handle up to 500 crank hp. You may be looking at 450-460ish whp with a little more boost. Anything 500 whp or more is not going to be a pleasant to drive on public roads especially in stop and go traffic.
Be prepared for torque steer and traction issues...

IT LIVES!!!!

Going to be picking it up Satuday morning. Just need to finish up a few little things tomorrow.
I cant wait!!!!!! My baby is coming back home!!!
I know its not much to look at, as most of the pretty parts are inside, but still. And I know I need to detail the engine bay.
