Omgomgomg Search ....

Ok, i deserve a pat on the back for this. My req maint light came on and i was like but after using the trusty search feature.. tadda!!!! Oil Change time along with learning how to turn it off! Damn im good...

Soooo this leads to my next question... Types of oil. Is there a required type or brand that works best for an 03 CLS6MT? Before with my Integra i stuck using Castrol Syntec or Mobile... Should i stay on the same path or should i be using something else? Im not sure what i have in there now, its my first oil change since having the car. Oh... i dont have any tools or such so this oil change will be done by a company, any wrong doing if i go to Mr.Lube? Yeah yeah yeah, dont worry... i shut them down when they ask for extra stuff and such. Been there a few times with my tegra.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers!

here, for you

also, dont take it to jiffy lube. There's a report that came out a few months ago that showed a bunch of them that werent really doing maintenance on cars but charging anyways.

I'd take it to a smaller mechanic.

I always take mine to the dealer. The last time I took it in for one, I actually went to the Honda dealer instead. SURPRISE SURPRISE! I was treated WAY better there and their prices were the same as Acura. Acura dealers here suck (around here) but the main reason I take it to the dealer is 1.) might as well have someone else do it. $30 isn't going to kill me. 2.) They do more than just change the oil, suchs as filling/checking all the other fluids, and at Honda, they actually checked the brakes and my tire tread depth. I thought that was pretty cool.

Thanks for the suggestions, i was also thinking about the dealership. The ones by my area are actually quite good (Honda/Acura). If i go to them i guess the type of oil doesnt matter. They just place in whatever they have which im sure is decent. In regards to the others where i have a menus i guess i can place whichever ever in. Its not like im racing or anything so im sure most will be just fine. Any thoughts of brands that i should stay away from?

I have friends that work at jiffy lube.....dont do it ANYMORE...they always do all of the work, but they have plenty of horror stories. Some people dont change oil filters and if your car is tough they wont do anything at all... the last manager there got fired for filling up a car part water and part oil because the lady was a bitch.

You pretty much have to idea, just make sure to invest in a good quality oil. Whatever brand is your own preference. (Keeping neutral)
