Noooo I got hit! *Pics*

Hey guys. This happened on Friday night...its not that bad but still pissing me off. I was a friends house and parked in his driveway next to Dodge Ram. The truck was backed in for EASY access to leave. Well...I just so happen to be standing near the door and hear my alarm go off (thanks to the shock sensors my brother LarryB put in). I walk outside to see my friends dad standing looking at my bumper. I was and see what the hell just happened. I go out and see this:

I couldnt tell how bad it was b/c it was dark out but I knew it was not gonna be pretty. He was saying how it was my fault that he hit my car while it was parked and all this bs. As pissed as I am he goes out and blames me for him hitting my silver car as he claims he "couldnt see it."

So what do you guys think? Need a new bumper or you think that the body shop can just pop it out and sand?

Make a police report. Without police report he might not give you any money to fix it.
If something would happen to my car, even a small scratch, I'd call the police.

I was thinking about that, but Ive known this kid for a while and theres no doubt that he wont pay. His mom said she'll take care of it cuz the dad was pissed off. Worse comes to worse, Small Claims Court.

I mean come on man...silver is so obvious to see...black i could understand...sorta.

Now you've got yourself a hasle. Maybe at least you can report a claim to your insurance without guilty person, so they can pay for it. The only thing that is left is the deductable, which I assume is smaller than the cost to fix the whole thing...

Tomorrow it's going to the shop to get estimated and Tuesday it will dropped off to start the work. It'll all work out. Thanks for your concern though Russiandude.

look forward for estimate between $500 to $700...

I was backing slowly and hit sign pos that would cost me some $500 to fix, if I include the door dings cost would jump to $1200 if I add a paint detailing job... the total would be $2200

go get his insurance information and make him pay. it's his fault for hitting your car because he was a careless driving.

if he "didn't see it" , then he shouldn't be driving.

I would just get a new bumper cover and move on with you life. I guess there is a relationship here in concern. You needed to decide on the spot whether to call the police or not. As of now you dont have anything that states when it happened. I would not call your insurance company just yet. This job should cost you about 500 at most with a new bumper cover.
If your friends parents will cover this, then just go that route. Otherwise, their insurance company will need to pay for it.

your damage is almost the same as mine :

The damage on mine cost a little over $1700 to repair
I paid $500 deductible, insurance paid the rest.

I was rear-ended in my second week of ownership.

Replacement of bumper is about $500 -- $250 in parts and $250 paint/labor.

I'd just get a new one rather then reconstructing the old one.

call cops, get police report, file under *HIS* insurance. F*ck a deductible, it was his fault. If you do that, then fight for a new bumper & whatever else might need to get fixed. A couple of weeks ago an older lady turned right into me and caused the accident, minor fender bender if there is such a thing. I got a new bumper, fog light, etc... but definitely file under his insurance, or give him the option to pay for it. Bumpers aren't too expensive, i don't think.

Yeah, I too was rear-ended few months ago. Parts and Labor cost about $700 for a new bumper.

Doesn't it suck when people hit you?! So much tedious and stupid insurance hell to take care of for even little things!

Well....after a week and a half of waiting for my car I finally got it back. I had a new bumper put on and all. The guys insurance covered it and came out 660 bucks for insurance to pay. Not to bad for a new bumper and everything. Also I had a small dent fixed on my front driverside fender. Thanks for all your help. And any of you Miami people...at H&M Autobody I saw another CL-P silver in there. New bumpers and taillights..anyone?

It is going to about the same if you fix it. Just get a new one.
