roughly 4 hours give or take, depending on how much experience they have dealing with mounts, and how many hands they have to help out

i'd imagine with a shop and the proper tools, this should be 2+hrs. Def not a whole day unless there are alignment issues. i was able to replace my mounts with new oem mounts on a leisurely sunday with limited house tools.

mounts are installed and fit perfectly my mechanic did exactly as excelerate said do mounts one at a time and support with jack while doing it.

i have the 62a mounts. first thing i noticed is on start up engine is solid no movement at all even when revving. but there is quite a bit of vibration when im idling. i can hear my dash vibrating and feel my steering wheel also in the seats. it doesnt bother me that much because my car already vibrates alot from the exhaust and stiff coilover/dampers, and the engine torque damper.. but i hope the vibrations do die down a lil bit over time.

i had broken mounts before so i had alot of vibration already and when i would come to a stop the car would feel like its gonna die the rpms would drop a few hundred rpms.

i didnt get a chance to really test the new mounts out because of the bad weather this whole week is gonna be bad but when its sunny then we will see how they feel when i push the car hard.

i only got to do couple pulls on half throttle i can feel the car is pulling stronger

Thanks for the feedback. And the vibrations will subside somewhat as the bushings break in. Also make sure the center bolts are torqued to 35-40 ft lbs of torque. If they are over-torqued it will increase vibrations.

Glad to hear a 100% problem free experiance with shipping and install kdawg. Curious to how you like them in the next couple weeks.
Been looking into OEM mounts and for the price these would be a better deal if all headaches before hand were fixxed.

Come onnnnnnnnn mann. If your rear mount is broken I'm going to be pist because I have 75a also. Plus that is the hardest mount to change, which I don't feel like doing again over something so dumb.

Question people... I replaced my front right motor mount on my 04 TL. Lately I been feeling my engine shift when im at a dead stop and then hit the gas. And also when im driving and the car is about to shift at 3-4 rpm i feel like the whole car shakes only sometimes.

Wtf are you talking about. I was first to install them and i can assure you i did it properly. Side mount looks fine but it came later that the rest. I broke tranny because my axle was rusted and it broke it doesnt have anything to do with the mounts. Rear one is definetaly worn and once i get the front out too i will post pics and video.

Are you saying that a snapped axle automatically breaks the tranny, cause I have heard of axles being replaced after snapping without needing new tranny. You dont think that could have affected or damaged the mount? How do we know a oem mount wouldnt also be damaged after snapping axles and damaging tranny? It seemed like you were complaining ever since you installed it, whereas others and myself didn't have the same complaints right after. Just want to know if this is an isolated incident or not. Would need more failures to confirm it.

I would be more convinced if it was just the mount issue without all the other damage issues.

I had the hell of the vibrations last two weeks. I got used to it but since i decided to part out the car i took them out. I just dont see how breaking an axle could affect tranny mount. I took it out and it looks like the middle metal bushing is loose that i could push it out of the poly with my finger. I also recorded a video that shows how can you move it inside the poly bushing it def worn amd that 100% not from a my axle breakage. Thats whole different story. You can tell that after installing the mounts you will notice much more things that are loose or feel more vibrations from a drivetrain. Rear mount is shot i have doubt. I didnt even last 10k. And lately i was driving very calm due to tranny issue. Please dont tell me that i did something wrong. How many miles did you put on that mounts ? 1k 2k? I want to see how does the front mount looks like because i ended up late night replacing side and rear and today i will pull the front and inspect it as well

Because I snapped both axles, destroyed my differential bearings, and then put another ~2k miles on the car on stock mounts. They were fine when I pulled them out.

His bushings didnt tear, nor did the welds break. The bushing suffered the same fate as the Innovative mounts - doughnutting.

I didn't tell you anything, they were questions. That is why i use question marks. This doesn't look good tho. It looks like the alignment of the mount was wrong from the beginning since the metal on that one side is pressed in. Interested in seeing other 2 mounts.

The 4g TL 6MT rear looks similar to the CL-S6 rear; but, does not share the same part#. The other oem mounts on the 4g are different.

OH please. How many times do I have to say I didn't tell you anything and was asking questions. Can you read? Why do you think anyone asking any questions is a personal attack? People need to get over themselves and their egos. I am just trying to get answers. Please street put more words in my mouth for me.

Two of my mounts are bad (F & R) and I was thinking of replacing with a set of XLR8 mounts. From reading this thread I've come to the conclusion that:

A.) No-one makes better after-market motor mounts than XLR8 for the 2nd gen CL.

B.) XLR8 motor mounts should last longer than OEM because they don't have any moving (hydraulic) parts.

C.) XLR8 motor mounts (with 62a bushings) may cause a little bit of vibration, similar to when your OEM mounts are broken.

D.) A set of properly installed XLR8 motor mounts should correct the acceleration hesitation caused by broken motor mounts and possibly fix the idle dashboard vibration noises.

Am I correct? Anything else I should think about? I'd like to place my order soon...

from the begining you sound like you trying to make it like it was my fault or something i just dont understand why are you trying to neglect what i just posted like it wasnt a design or material issue... i dont feel like it was personal atack but it seems weird like you stand behind Josh back... hmmmm maybe you have a profit from it

and please keep your smart life senstences for somebody else Mr. Wise Guy
