Bummer. I know it is a lot of work (especially the back) wrestling them in & out. Sorry it did not work out.

Thanks for doing this!

They don't look that bad . . . and should be fine once the final product is out.

As for the tranny mounts there are no plans that I know of to make a performance tranny mounts. And once we get some good motor mounts I'm not sure we need them . . . do you? is this more a 6spd need?

Not sure how useful the tranny mounts are, but in my eyes, the more the merrier.

And to the fitment issues. But Im sure it will get rectified, and hopefully in a timely manner.

lol, but yeah the more you can spread the load between all the mounts (or additional one's; still waiting on ingall's btw), the less stress on each, so they should last longer then

^ . . still playing phone tag with the vendor . .

BTW . . forgot to mention that I swapped out the Innovative front mount bushings in the 3rd gen design . . . they finally gave out. This set up lasted just over 1yr, much longer than the 1st & 2nd gen design bushings did . . they lasted 1 month or less. I had some of the black bushings from a previous test and am trying them out. I like the feel of the traction better . . . almost no wheel hop . . . but boy did it spin the tires. As easy as the front is to swap out I wouldn't mind changing the bushings every year . . a lot cheaper than new mounts every 6-12 months. I'll post some pics and share some more thoughts on the 3rd gen design in a few days . . . got a lot going on.

In my opinion the side mount is sort of like a slave/helper mount. It's not very strong and if it's gone . . I'd take a close look at the front and or rear mount as odds are good that one or both of them is bad as well.

And while I'm out here a quick update . . well there is no update. The last time the mfg tried to call me was Friday the 23rd . . and I was on a road trip and didn't have my notes with me anyway they were supposed to call me back and . . well nothing yet. I let Excelerate know that so we'll see what comes of it . . the waiting game continues. SIGH

Once again, no news. I've asked Excelerate for a bit more help getting the manufacturer and I connected.

On a side note, I mentioned back on 4/22 I swapped out the red bushings for the black bushings in the 3rd gen mount design because the red bushings failed after 1 year. I think the blacks will last longer, but without a small design change they'll eventually fail as well. The good news . . . there is almost ZERO wheel hop . . never felt better, so I feel we're on the right track in that department. However, I want to see how it works on a sticky race track when the tires get much more of a bite.

Anyone for a little update?

Good news is that the manufacturer and I have been talking. And having talked with them I'm feeling much better that they want to fix our mount problem. I also feel better about their technical knowledge about mount designs and their desire to understand our problems and what we'd like out of a performance mount. Basically there's a big difference between dealing with this manufacturer and Innovative in that Innovative never really "discussed" the problems and what types of mount designs will do what . . . and in their willingness to talk with us and not treat us as dumb car owners.

Anyway, the bad news is that we'll probably have at least one more prototype version to test, so we won't have a real mount for at least another month and probably a bit longer.

Note, having spent over 2 years with two different manufacturers, this is really a difficult problem as the overall Honda/Acura design limits more traditional design options.

I hate the front mount design (and rear for the autos). Keep us updated.

If they still need a 6MT to test, I can send them my old broken poly-filled rear mount so they can reverse engineer it. Im going with 94A on the pass side and rear mount this time as the 80A didn't hold up.

Regarding the front and rear design, I discussed this with them and asked them to look closely at the Innovative design as it was very easy to install. Basically integrating the nut on the mount so that you only have to lift the motor an inch or so. With that design I could remove and reinstall all 3 mounts in less than 1 hour.

Sorry to hear that the poly didn't last longer . . so far it seams that nothing is last longer than about 1 year.

Good things to those who wait.

When we have a viable product we will be glad to release it. I just don't want to release something and have a disaster like with the IM mounts.

Thanks RUF for taking the time to talk with my fabricator.

Thanks for chiming in Josh. At this point we'd like periodic updates as soon as you or Mark receive them even if the update is that there's no update.

Depends on how bad the mounts are, but the hp numbers will be down.

and kdawg, if your front/rear motor mounts are busted, i dunno if you'd lose hp, but def have slower track times. my mounts are busted. everytime i do the WOT, i feel THUMP!!

I missed the side mount part. If it were the rear or front, it would. But side, most likely not.

busted mounts in NO way change the horsepower except for maybe if the vacuum mount part is busted and leaking, they just control the movement of the motor, and once the motor bottoms out the mount, or basically stops the motor from moving around anymore, it is still going to put down the same power (just that the throttle response you feel and such will be slower, due to the motor shifting around more before actually spinning the wheels)

ok we might be able to get all technical and say that it does decrease whp, because the angles on the axles with the cv axles has increased, which takes more power to spin, but then again it could easily improve the angles also, so kinda pointless to argue about that point

Im going to argue about it anyway

If the rear or front mounts were broken, then the motor is banging around under the hood.

Go take a socket wrench and try turning a bolt. Easy, right? Now put two universals and move your hand up and down as you try to turn that bolt. You can't put the same amount of torque on it.

, but is it the smartest idea to put in on the dyno with broken motor mounts NO
and as far as the cv axles taking more power to spin, it actually might improve and take less power to spin depends on what mount is shot along with how badly

and btw you are F***ing a SICKO

The manufacturer has completed the redesign and is expected to ship as soon as they've signed off with Excelerate. I will be given an update once the mounts have shipped.

Don't have details on stiffness options, but I understood there would be at least 2 options. As for pics will send some once I get them.

Well . . . it's been a bit more than a week and I still haven't received a shipping confirmation from the manufacturer to either Excelerate or me . . . sigh.

I did PM Excelerate to give him a heads up so hopefully we'll have some response this coming week.

The fabricator told me the mounts were going to be in my next shipment, which should be arriving with the week.
