it has the HP and TQ, but the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times aren't that impressive, for the power.

i would say making this car was a good move by merc......if we were still in the 80's LOL

 

They'll sell them all out and with little or no discounts. There's a decent sized market for a traditional muscle barge in this price range, and they have 0 competition.

In a year or two, I could see a 6-speed MTX in this barge taken directly out of the Mustang.

Great another car that looks like a cop car thats going to be on the road :thumbsdn: ...I remember seeing this car on SpeedVision, the guy from Mercury even said they were aiming at drivers that were looking for an aggressive and "cop-like" look...

 

Shit, I could outrun that in my 97 Cadillac ETC, 300hp FWD! 35k, for a lincoln towncar, mark VIII, mercury cougar(last gen), ford thunderbird (last gen), crown vic, interceptor, come on, really? It is still slower than the 1996 Impala SS, and the SS only had 260hp. Ford, really needs a revamp.

Musclecar by definition, but otherwise, an overboasted POS.

 

Mercury will not be around just like the Olds. Ford is too chicken to drop the line and create a new one. This Marauder is an overpriced piece of crap from Ford. For 35K, there are plenty of better choices. CLs for One!!

 

I just raced one today, and I wouldn't call it a muscle car. I passed him, then slowed, and he passed me, and I caught him very quickly again. Not much of a race, but it showed me they are nothing to worry about competition wise.

they should have at least put the new s/c motor in it to make it worth 35k, and even then its a fugly POS cop car wannabe impala ss 5 days late and a few thousand dollars short!!!!!

Their 1/4 time is at least a full second slower that the auto CLS. A guy I work with has one. The interior really leaves a lot to be desired. The big black outside looks kind of menacing but that's about it. I think they should have chromed the 18's also instead of just a polish job.

 

When I started the thread I had comments and a pic. After submitting everything got dumped except the title posted! Guess you guys don't need much to kickstart a thread!
