All these races and I can never run into anyone that looks like they want to run on the street.

Beating that car would be a amazing thing Civic.
Maybe it took a sec to get that heavy pig moving from 75 but from 100 plus that car should have roasted you with +500/+500.
Maybe he was not on it very long and most likely in overdrive.

I dont think those 7speed trannies have overdrive. It kicked down, to what gear, I dont know, but you definitely heard the engine roaring over mine.

And he actually got a slight jump on me, past 100 is when I caught up and got very slightly ahead.

I dont consider it a kill by any means, but I am proud as hell that I could keep up. Im sure that from 130+ he would take the lead back and just keep adding to it. Same deal if we were to go from a dig.

great run civicdrivr. As I stated in another thread:

One important key I have found, though, is being able to anticipate when the other driver is going to throw down. That in itself will give you more competitive advantage, coupled with getting that all important shift to third fast and correct. Especially from a roll, when the deck is stacked agianst you in regards to cubic inches.

In your case though it was forth gear, after he showed his spots on your first pass attempt.

well civic listen to this shit.
Today I was going to charlotte for the parade and came up on a car that I've been telling my girl a want ( a 06-07ish s600 bi v12) so I pull next to him doing 75 and was riding next to him he took off and I hit the gas,my car was in 5th ss mode, the car did not down shift and pulled slowly .
He left me like I put on the brakes.
I took the car out of ss mode when I realized and the car down shifted and pulled hard. I atempted to get near him but had the family in the car and he was crusing at atleast 100 after that so I never even had a chance to get walked and take a loss respectfully.
Quite a embarisment and it makes me want a s600 even more now.

Earlier this week, after getting my license and car back from impound this red Hyundai Genesis pulls up to me as I was rolling back and forth at the light. He starts revving his engine at me, some douchebag abercrombie lookin type thinking his car's hot shit. So I roll back a little anticipating the green light and boom right off the launch i get my rear bumper ahead of his car. Even though he's RWD and I know he floored it cause his wheels screeched hard, by the time i shifted into 2nd gear I had a good 2-2.5 car lengths on him. Guy turned off at the next light hahaha.

All I have is lightweight pulley, I'm guessing he was the 2.0 Turbo cause the 3.8 probably would have taken me. Either way I think the Genesis is an overrated car and their driver's are all cocky for no reason.. POS Hyundai.

With few bolt ons you should be able to walk on each of them.

Yesterday i race BMW 1M and there was also S5 playing around. I have to say that car is beautiful and hella quick. He smoked me pretty bad which isnt surprise but still i love the car.

I smoked a 2.0t Genesis the other day. Funny you mention the attitude those guys all seem to have, because my experience was similar. Maybe late 20's revving at me and making a show of it. I just knuckled the wheel and gave the "yeah let's go" rev. The light changes and I chirped em a bit. He actually launched pretty clean, just a polite chirp. He pulled half a car off the line (fwd shows its ugly face) and by the time we hit 25 my car began moving like I hit a spray button. Dude looked over as I was walking past him and I just waved. It was looney toons, I swear steam jets were pouring out of each ear. By 55 I was cleanly ahead and by 65 I had like two cars so I was able to merge and tear ass down the entrance ramp first, not being stuck behind his slow butt.
He was an idiot and tossed his beck end out in the first entrance ramp twisty and clearly was oversteering. He had to juggle to get he back, by that time I am merging high way about a 1/5 mile down. Rwd is nice but it doesn't change knowing how to drive, and what your limitations are. I was proud of my 8k nine year old luxury car making a guy question his 30k purchase. All I had was a tune up, mobil 1 and intake. Old tires too.

yeahhh buddy! our 8 year old cars impress all the time. these guys have no idea what hit em. i sometimes wonder if the CL was kept in production what it's current specs would be. Not that i'd be able to afford a new one but imagine a J37 300+hp 6mt SH-AWD Coupe....the possibilities.

lolll it's hard to fight the urge especially when it's formidable competition.

in canada, anytime you go over 50+km over the speed limit it's an automatic 7-day impound and a stunt driving ticket. that's what I got for going 60 over at 3am on an empty freeway.

Thats more lenient then VA. Anything 20mph (32kmh) over and its a reckless driving ticket, court date, and possible jail time and suspension (seriously, Ive sat in on the hearings).

60kmh is 37mph over the limit. If it were a freeway, Id assume its at least a 50mph (80kmh) zone, which means you were doing nearly 90mph. I think they let you off easy IMO.

I would think it would look a lot like this mysterious 400hp rwd RL that everyone keeps talking about.

I have friends who had guns drawn on them for going 35mph over. They do not take heavy speeding lightly in a lot of states haha.

damn you guys got it rough in virginia! how do you manage to have the fastest n/a CL and deal with those heavy regulations?

oh and believe me i didn't get off easy at all. i had to pay $1100 in impound fees just to get my car back. + im looking at another grand to get a lawyer. My summons to appear in court is on May 1st, if I'm convicted I'm facing 2k-10k in fines + license suspension up to 2 years. i just gotta pray the judge goes easy on me

I try to keep it 10-15mph over only in areas that I am comfortable with. Otherwise its the limit or 5 over.

Ive had runs ins with dick head cops, but surprisingly none of them were in VA. I guess the biggest thing to do is be honest, don't make excuses, and make them feel comfortable. The second I get pulled I turn the car off, put the keys on the dash, turn all interior lights on, and put my hands spread out in my lap. Unfortunately Ive had a lot of practice

I try not to do anything reckless.

Seeing all the fines that your facing, I take back my "let off easy" comment. Thats a shit load of fines

How long does the stunt driving ticket stay on your record?

^ Do it.

SRT8 Jeep. Had a short run with him from about 50-80. I wouldn't consider it a kill, but he got a slight jump and was about 1/2 car ahead until about 65 where I started reeling him in. I was at his door when we let off at 80. Had we gone into 4th I think I would've pulled over a car.

05+ Audi TT. defiantly intake+exhaust mods as well as rims and suspension work. Back roads so no pass to officially kill. I was driving behind him and at a stop sign he took off so I pulled up, jammed my brakes and then took off after him. He had pulled far at first but by 40 I started reeling him in hard. By 80 I could have attempted a pass, I was on his ass and pulling harder than he could, but it was back roads and that was too dangerous for my tastes so I backed off. He was visibly annoyed, especially since he tried a grimy take off. Wasn't sure if I could catch him but it was a slight upwards incline and Torque WON

Not sure of mods, but those turbos were LOUD. Further down the road the driver said
"that thing hauls ass". I said "its alright "

Tried getting a new Maxima to play yesterday and a Civic Si today, but they wouldnt bite.

lol, I get that all the time around here. I was f'ing with one from stop light to stop light in my mothers Alero the other day.

This little wippersnapper would powerbrake to spool up just before the light turned green. That's when I roll up the windows real quick before I get sprayed with the diesel exhaust.

I will say that some I have come up against can get up and go for the weight they are strutting, they sound pretty cool too. hehe

Yea, it definitely sounded pretty cool and it had some balls. I wouldve liked to have gone from a dig just to see how fast it really was, but we went from ~20mph roll.

so there is this guy in my neighborhood that just purchased a genesis turbo with the track package and he is always riding around like a douche speeding over the speed bumps, revving his engine when i drive by and doing stupid shit like that.

i guess it's because my civic is so loud, everyone thinks i want to race...

anyway, i'm on my way out of the neighborhood and im driving down the only road out basically crawling over the speed bumps and here he is, riding my ass!

i make it over the third speed bump and the gate arm goes up and i pull out to the right, turn my left turn signal on to go into the left lane and he zooms up into the left lane and forces me back into the right lane... now im pissed.

(this road is about 1/2 mile of hilly curves and then ends at a stoplight)

i downshift from 3rd to 2nd and let it rip, he follows suit, first curve he almost loses his shit and back off slightly, i gain a car.. straightaway -3rd gear- 2 cars, next curve i completely lost him. end at the stop light and here he comes barrelling down to the light braking extra hard so that he doesnt run it.

im making a left and there is no car in the right lane but he stays completely behind me in another lane

Just took a V8 mustang! woooooh!

We were going at it on the highway, the first time we leveled up side by side and he let it rip, i missed the shift into 4th and he left me in his dust. Turns out he was headed the same way as me so I waited for this one stretch where there were no exits or anywhere a cop could pull out of. I line up beside him again, we glance at each other he knew i was back for my revenge. 3 highbeam flashes and I slam it into 4th again, and wow i was pulling on him right from the beginning! I was just as shocked as him. We ended up getting off at the same exit and I got to talk to him. Asked him if it was V6 and to my surprise he said V8 and manual transmission. He tells me he was surprised i kicked his ass back there and asks what i have. I tell him all stock, which is basically the case.

This car surprises me everytime, and all i have is lightweight pulley. Cant wait till i get intake and headers.

Especially the turbo ones... I wonder why that is. My guess is they know nothing about cars and see Turbo and think "Oh My God THAT THING IS TURBO SO FAST!"

Nice kill. I love chasing fat muscle cars. I have noticed both from driving V8 mustangs and racing them that their gearing really doesn't seem to be correct for properly laying all that power down efficiently. MY dad has the 2003 Mach 1 Remake with the SVT motor and when I drive it I can't help but think "RWD is wonderful, but the car doesn't feel faster." I feel the torque... but it really doesn't give me a sense that I am getting from a-b quicker. Just my experience....

Was on my way home from work last night at 12:30 and I am in the left lane cruise control auto pilot. Between the city where I work and the countryside where I live there are stripes of posh upscale suburbia where the eurotuners are rife. Needless to say for some reason there always seems to be a tension between groups of different cars nuts. Back when I had my homegrown accord the more well funded individuals made sport of beating up on my car. I wasn't as fast as their new GTi and R32 and TT-S and Cooper Works and S3 and what not. I now am equipped to fight those battles and take pride and passion in doing so. Well last night I am crossing over the line into that territory and there is the mark of the beast, the epitome of those whose were the bane of my early tuning years, the R32. I vaguely was aware of the dual central exhausts as I lumber by in my cruising mode, but it didn't hit me until I saw the badge stuck in her teeth. Of course I am wracking my brain for specs and all I think is German six... Fair fight. So I tap the clutch to stealthily knock CC off and he starts creeping up. Finally he is at my side and I look over. The driver seems in his own zone so I give him a rev. He looks over, I down shift.... and he exits. Damn. Another day, another day.

^ I enjoyed reading your post lol. If the R32 would've gave it a go, you would've walked away. They are decently quick, but really run out of steam up top where our cars seem to shine.

Thanks haha. I write short stories a lot so sometimes that creeps into my posts. I'm a wordy individual. I figured stock for stock I would walk. The only this I I still have to careful, there are 600whp Bimmers driving that area. You can judge the books by their cover art but often (look at J series Hondas as example) you will more than likely be surprised at the contents.

I love the English language, even though I do tend to make a mockery of it
