Just Received...

I was told that my Comptech SC arrived at my office today. However, I have been at a customer’s sites for the last few days for a project start-up. Now I will have to run by the office tomorrow or Sunday to pick it up and hopefully begin the install on Sunday.

Again, thanks to Dean for all of his support in getting this to me. I'll take pictures (with the new camera) of the boxes (three in total) along with the install process.

I also have the Comptech springs there which need to be picked up along with an Autometer boost gauge (where that is going I haven't decided but most likely in the glove box).

Although I am beat from some serious work this week I am anxious to begin the install…

Advice: glovebox guages are useless except for show cars.

Places on our car:

*The shallow tray in the center console (again more for show cars but at least you can look at that without straining in your seat to read a guage in the glovebox)

*the sunglass popdown holder (unless you have an Apexi unit going there)

*Ditch the change tray next to the poweroutlet and stick it there

Thanks but the idea for the gauge in the glove box is to not be seen. Yes, it would be worthless most of the time but this is a roots style blower; there is no chance of the boost getting away from me so it would not be necessary to see it all of the time.

I would use it periodically to verify that there are no vacuum leaks and that everything was normal with the boost (no belt slipping, etc.)

*The shallow tray in the center console (again more for show cars but at least you can look at that without straining in your seat to read a guage in the glovebox)
This is one of the other considerations. But it would require more fishing to get the vacuum line to the gauge. Add to that the shift linkage being in the way.

Since monitoring boost is not a paramount issue I am being lazy on this aspect.

*the sunglass popdown holder (unless you have an Apexi unit going there)
The gauge has too much depth and too much vacuum line to run.

*Ditch the change tray next to the poweroutlet and stick it there
Another consideration, but if it is constantly visible it must look good too. I did get the Sport Comp series to match the silver dash gauges so it is not out of the question of being seen. But I would need to fashion something in order to make it look the part in that area. I might pull the accessory socket and use that area.

But either way I need to fashion a mount, maybe our of fiberglass...

Allright Steve!! Join the club!

Let us know how it turns out... and by the way, which pulley did you get?

Please make sure you do an A/F run with the dyno... I am curious to see that. Also, if you could let me know what the fuel pressure (static) setting is, that'd be great.

Thanks!

Just the standard pulley for now as this is a new product.

And yes, full data logging will be done. In fact I planned on this after our various conversations as it will be useful for all. Static fuel pressure will also be monitored and reported.

I had better get my enjoyment of the SC in because I have a feeling that in about six months I will be a little busy...

The expected date is August 13th. But considering it is two, it should be several weeks early. So late July will most likely be the time frame.

Can't wait to get your report !! Hey Scalbert, the owner of Comptech told us at the West Coast meet that they were working on a SC for the MDX, so even with 2 on the way you could have your cake and eat it too !!

That is a possibility, however she is now leaning towards the Lexus RX instead of the MDX. But a blown MDX would be interesting...
