Just port and polished my Type S TB and Intake Mani

Whats up guys, im going over to my freind Greg's today to get some P and P done on my 02 TL Type S. Ill let you guys know how it turns out. (Port matched of course)

If I like it Ill letcha guys know. He does amazing work and really really good prices.

If you want the work done heres the introductory prices.

300 for the upper
75 for the lower
75 throttle body

Greg does amazing work !! If you do all of it he'll work on the price, im sure.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

I just got back from driving, the ecu hasnt adapted yet, but holy shit does the car move up top now. As with every mod it doesnt really effect under 5000 lol, i mean you can still feel a bit of a pull, but once it hits VTEC that shit blazed. That was with two people, a turbo charger, muffler, and all my cleaning shit in the trunk.

I let Greg out (the guy that did my work) and i went home. Then i got on,

First gear went by extremyly quick, second and third equally quick up top.

Basically the car revs a lot freer and is just overall a shitload quicker. Im guessing anywhere from 15-25whp. Im not talking CAI whp, im talking actual hp where you can see it on the dyno each time you run.

Pics go up soon !

Your car is turbocharged?

If not, this had been done before and came up with losses at the numbers you show for gains.

Have you dyno'd your car before? If not you are going to have NO idea how much you picked up.

EDIT: or lost

exactly id like to know this too.

it is highly unlikely they lost horsepower unless they polished it and had a ton of cross hatch marks and it wasnt bored out enough.

anyways dyno comes as soon as i get the stupid frog harness in the mail

i dont see why p and p would make you loose power. The only reasons i can see for loosing power is a shitty job or the ecu just cant adjust to the new air flow and runs the a/f way off.

shitty airflow=bad air fuel mix= less power

exactly, smitty i wasnt advertising for him, someone on tl-forums asked for a price, so i just merged all threads together and reposted here on Cl-forums. I know the rules for the whol advertising bit . I guess its like saying how much someone charges to install headers, but they dont advertise Anyways I'll talk to him about advertising on here

BTW there are pictures in the TL-Forums

heres what was done and heres the link
Intake manifold was fully ported along with the Throttle Body. All rough castings and inner welds ground down and removed and polished to a mirror finish... This came out awesome. Throttle body was ported and polished and bored 3mm on the back side as the hump pictured in the before shots is no longer there. Intake runners were bored out and inner intake passages were smoothened and polished. Dyno numbers will be impressive...

I think the losses had to do with the swirling of the air. Even tho the stock parts aren't as smooth, they have a better actual path of air to the cylinders. Disturbing that resulted in loss of power.

...Just messing with ya man!,...wishing I had more time to work on my ride. P&P was on my list of things but died a slow death last year.

I dig the shot of the turbo above. TIG welding can be fun on plumbing setups like that.

yea it can be but the asshat that built the kit didnt know wha =t he was doing.. hence the short life of the jetta i learned a valuable lesson trying to go as cheap as possible by letting an israeli build a turbo kit and install it on my car

ah come on now..... can't bust on these folks.

I own an Israeli made holster (Fobus) for my G36. Damn thing held up better than any of the others I have used. I guess doing turbo setups is not his thing.

Just FYI, the gains you seem to be feeling are just optimism. I beleive you may have gained somethign but not enough to feel it. If you search the forum you will see that this was done well over two years ago with little measureable gains.

And you cannot say that it wasn't done right as one was etrude honed and the other was done by me and looked as good if not better than what was shown in the images.

That was with head work, not manifold work.

Also, I didn't see anything done to the injector base in the images. If that wasn't done it was certainly a waste IMO.

Also, just the throttle body inlet was worked and the throttle plate remains stock.

So you open up the ends of a straw but leave the middle pinched??

Plates?? There is only one...

Shimmed??

If you open up the bore, you need a larger plate. This cannot be done by hand accurately and should be CNC'd; both the bore and new plate.

platE ... you know what i meant. (notice how i used was instead of is .. clearly a type of plates meant as platE. Other wise if it was plural i would have used WERE)

man wtf are you giving me shit for man, seriouslly everything was done properly with all the proper equipment. I sat and watched him through the entire process. And by shimmed i meant that the blade/plate width was reduced.

Is it just that you have your hopes up about this mod taking a shit or something?

Im not trying to be a dick but thats how you are coming off. Ive got respect for you on the boards but you are comin off a bit daft and asinine.
