Just got a CL-S.... now what?
I just scooped an '01 CL-S and am quite stoked. My Integra GS-R got stripped for the second (and last) time a few days ago- in my driveway- and was over it.
I've got a few questions for all you pros. Apologies if I'm rehashing stuff that's been covered. I haven't had the opportunity to sift and search through this form yet, which I intend to do.
First, what security concerns do I need to have? (In case you didn't know, garages are for pool tables and bars.) I'll throw down whatever I need to keep somebody's grubby mits off my whip. I'm over my shit getting stolen.
Can I reset the Navigation pin # myself? I've already scheduled an appointment with the local Acura dealer (Keys) later this week, but would like to knock this off my list right away if possible.
Anyone know if the DVD for the Navi can read a DVD-R? You know, um.... for backup purposes?
My road/fog lights are out. Local TrackAuto doesn't carry bulbs for 'em. Anyone know a part number? Are these on seperate fuses than the headlights (meaning it might not be the bulbs)?? I don't pretend to know anything about the mechanical side of the tracks.
Any other suggestions or heads-up you can throw a newbie would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to have Acura give me the full skinny on the transmission and all those details. Anything else specific I should have them focus on?

Welcome to the board.... Your fog lamps usually people change with the PIAA 19224. There is a convertor to play DVD in your Nav, which you can purchase via black market-> group buy. Since my car isn't equipped with Nav can't answer your first question regarding the Nav Pin.
Mod wise, you can get headers, intake, sways, spring (no more 4x4 look), and rims. My is headers is one of the best mods I've done on my car. Comptech, Alpha Work, Stone, and OBX headers can be bought, please do a search for further details.
Intake you have injen, AEM, and comptech icebox. AEM has the great VTEC roar, but comptech icebox give a tad bit more gains, but doen't have the roar as th AEM.
Springs and sways are self expained mods... Good luck, and welcome again.

with above, and I'll add this..
you already have an alarm, you just need to add a shock sensor to it to make it a better alarm...also, the biggest security concern you should have is your HID's...those things get stolen all the time
good luck and welcome

Welcome to the forum. Or as it has been called in the past....the Money Pit. Post some pics and what mods do you have in mind? Like babyblue said, the first thing I would do is replace the springs, and depending on the miles, the shoks/struts. H&R sports springs or Comptechs are the more popular ones.
Next I would replace the intake. I have the Icebox, and had the AEM. It's a matter of personal taste as far as the sound, but I like the Icebox for the less loud sound and ease of maintainance. It also looks more like the stock intake.
As far as headers, Comptechs are the best ones. Headers will give you the best horsepower gain, aside from the supercharger. It makes a big difference. There are also some cheaper brands, but I have heard about problems with fitment and the welds with the other ones.
Comptech makes a good exhaust system as well. There is a cat back and an axle back system. Greddy also makes one. The Comptech system looks a bit more stock.
Do some searches on mods. There are a bunch out there. I would also browse the Photo Gallary section and take a look at some other cars, see what you like.
Enjoy.

well here's my opinion on all hte mods you should do...
1. Comptech Intake
2. Comptech Sways
3. H&R Sport Springs or Comptech Springs
4. Tokico HP Gas Shocks or Koni Adjustables
5. Comptech Headers or Alpha Werks Headers
6. Comptech Exhaust
7. Unorthodox Pulleys (these help you reach higher RPM's quicker and have good HP gains)
8. I saw you were interested in a new Alarm I have the Clifford RSX 3.5 and I love it..I suggest it over any other alarm...so thats #8..Clifford RSX 3.5
9. Change all your interior lights to PIAA Xtreme White! It helps alot trust me, I can see much better during the night with those bright lights!
There's just an outline of some popular mods w/ the best gains!

first things first 10 beers, security sounds like a big issue where you live... your headights will be top priority on a list of goodies to steal.. along with your type S badge..
get a good alarm if you wsh to spend the money..but if not... you can tap into the starter wire ..... install a toggle switch.. without the hidden switch in the ON position, the car will never start...
nice easy and will cost you about 10 bucks...
and do not tell anyone where the toggle is.... i seen some guys wire the starter kill switch into the mirror adjustment switch.... if the switch is not depressed while turning the key, the car will never start....
