I haven't had any problems with Hasport in my previous cars.... Would that be another route for our cars? but then again, we would lose our $$ that we all invested into the IM. sigh..

If they are willing to make something like that for the limited group of people who are putting J motors in civics I think it would be worth our time to see what they will do for us. Seems logical they would watn to do something for us.

but looking at the cost.. it'll be another $600 to get a set.. and if innovative doesn't refund that's $1000 just for mounts which I don't believe is feasible for a lot of people

goodbye innovative!
The UPS man just dropped off my next idea to resolve this problem. i have seen Jeremy on here use roofing poly caulk and have seen numerous DIYs on using 3m window weld caulk to fill the stock mounts. i was finally able to locate some actual 2 part urethane for my own custom mounts. i even found a few people on websites that have done this on motorcycles and a few different cars.
i have trimmed out 90% of the stock rubber mount guts and drained the fluid. i hope to try this out this weekend if my new rear mount comes in. if all goes well we may have our own custom mounts that retain all stock mounting angles and fit perfectly!

it's worth a guinea pig test.

well.... thanks for being the tester. I never knew you could get poly like that. I've always heard of filling it with window crack poly. This might be good

I'd be somewhat concerned about air bubbles during the drying process. When it pours out, is it more of a paste or a liquid?

it pours in as a thick liquid. in order to eliminate, or greatly reduce the chance for air i plan on using a special caulk gun to inject the mold. this will allow me to fill the gun and use a tip to inject the poly into the bottom of the mold. This will fill the mold from the bottom and reduce the chance of trapped air.

i will start a new thread right now for this so i don't clutter up the innovative thread.

Tell me about it I had bought my mounts and had my mechanic install all 3 mounts +$360ish. Then replaced bushings on both front and rear +$240 ish. Then with the horizontal redesign IM installed the front but i still had to have my mechanic install the rear +$120 . And the mounts have lasted a month longer then the original mounts, front and rear that is. I have spent more in these mounts then i did my tires.
Either i'm getting a complete redesign from IM talking all factors into consideration or i'm going OEM where i know they will last me for 50K miles and not 1-2 month with hopefully some sort of refund for my time in being a patient guinea pig. oh and rant over

I have yet to be able to contact anyone on that. At least no one has gotten back to me. I may drive there & throw them back at Tim.

Sounds like a plan. Talking to them was useless. I never got anyone on the phone and when I used the online chat thingy I was told these mounts had no problems at all . Therefore no refund. I wonder if I can take this to small claims.

How long have you had them installed for...HELP!!

03 TL-P

I'm having the same issue... vibrations throughout the cabin like crazy! Feels like a 20 YR OLD honda civic!

The guy @ the shop and Josh from excelerate said they need to be broken in... Josh said about 3 to 4 weeks... guy @ the shop said about 1 week or 2.

Question is how long have you guys had them installed for and how many miles... and did you notice any difference in vibrations? That's implying you have them installed.

I read through this thread and the culprit seems to be the rear mount... out of the 3 mounts replaced, my rear mount was the only one that's in good condition. If I put that one back in and leave the front/side mounts in will i OK?

I have had mine in for over a year. The problem has only gotten worse. If you put in your rear OEM mount it will improve things. Unless the innovative front fails on you.

K thanks... I'll install the rear mount this weekend and see what improvements I see over all 3 IM installed. And if its still unbearable, I'll just replace the front and side one @ a time until I'm satisfied w/ the vibrations. which would be none...

I installed the mounts on Friday, today is Wednesday and I haven't driven my car cause I'm afraid to! It's just unbearable

my question is why is Excelerate still selling these without a major disclaimer, especially with all the issues?

Stealership currently tells me the 01 has two broken motor mounts. Will verify with my own mech. Cant recall exactly which two he said If they are broken, you guys recommend replace with OEs at this time? Or do they suck too much too?

Live with the two broken mounts until a real solution becomes available? (as long as it's not a major risk)?

to those that have reinstalled the OEM rear mount have you had any issues with the bracket on the motor being pinched to tight? i believe the innovative pin was a little smaller and when tightened down squeezed the brackets closer. now the OEM will not go in by about 1/32".

I haven't sold any of these mounts in a long time. Tim recently sent me a few sets with the lastest batch of bushings and he said these were good. Also, from what I remember reading, there is a member on here with the lastest bushing set who has been fine with them. The only customer I sold a set to is the one who posted above and he has been asking me since August for them. I have been waiting for the latest bushings and I sent him the set with the latest bushings.

There is going to be some degree of vibration with polyurethane mounts; I haven't experienced the extreme vibration some of you are talking about so I can't comment on it. I have experienced vibration from polyurethane mounts and it does subside after a few weeks as the mounts break in.

I have been at PRI so this is my first day back. I read over this thread every few days but there really isn't anything for me to say. I can't call Tim anymore than I have. I get the same answers. I ask him about it every week. In terms of warranty, it is a manufacturer warranty. In terms of refunds, Innovative hasn't responded. I have emailed them a couple times and haven't received a response. There is nothing wrong with the side and the front mount so they aren't going to refund anything on those. I don't know what they're going to do about the rear mount and honestly I don't think they will be offering me any compensation or refund. So what I can offer is to give anyone who purchased a set of mounts from me a $50 credit for the defective rear mount towards any future order. I'd like to wait it out and see if they correct the issue before giving any credits but I realize it's been a while as is so please contact me via email at sales@excelerateperformance.com and I will need your contact info and vehicle information too please.

thanks for posting josh. Ruf87 has done extensive testing and the front mount is probably as much of the problem as the rear mount. still waiting to hear back from him on the conference call w/IM.

i have minor vibrations that get a little worse with the AC on. i'm ok with the minor vibrations and expect them but this play-dough effect is an issue. i am not pulling the innovative mounts out due to vibration concerns, more for the dough-ing and dimension concerns.

That would be me...I just didn't know they would vibrate so much. I got IM over OEM so I dont have to replace them every 50k miles. But our cars aren't meant to feel the way they do w/ these mounts. I ordered the OEMs and now I have to spend more $$ again to have them installed

If you're planning on RACING your CL/TL get them, since you wouldn't care for comfort but performance. These are built for speed not comfort.

On that note PM me if anyone is interested on taking these off my hands. I'll post in Black Market once I have them replaced w/ the OEMs which will be by the end of this week.

Just purchased 2weeks ago and installed 1 week ago. About 40 miles on them, probably will put another 10 or so on them before taking them out. These have the latest bushings. 60A

imo this is a defective product. i wouldn't sell them if i were you because the bushings are going to fail. IM may not extend the warranty to the new owner.

They are all defective!!!
My rear had collapsed after 40 miles.
My front is now collapsed also. I will be removing it and posting pics soon as I take it out. Horrible product. The bushings WILL collapse even if you dont mind the crazy vibrations. The alignment of these bushings is way off. They were not designed with any measure of the word precision in mind. The side mount is the only thing I would consider. These are facts. DO NOT BUY!
