Exclamation IF you could ever help me...help NOW!!!

Guys,
So I'm going to put on my new exhaust w/ a dude from work and on the way to his house he asks "well whats it got?!?" So I put it in to SS and down to 2nd (we were going about 20mph) I floor it to about 50-55mph and then let off and put it back over to D5. When I go to slow down I can feel it kind of pulling still, still trying to accelerate. I take both feet away from the pedals so my friend can see whats up and it continues to accelerate. I pull over and turn it off, waited aobut 10 minutes (really 10 mins!) start it up and the RPMS skyrocket to 5K and I shut it off again. Long story short, the throttle body was stuck in WOT on the primary butterfly. I fixed that, well I think I did b/c it didnt/doesnt rev by itself and works like it should...again I think. Well now my problem is that the VSA light stays on and when I push the button it wont turn off. WHAT DO I DO??? I know its not life threatening but if I'm on the highway and can't stop due to the TB getting stuck I could die or kill people. What causes or caused this, and how do I get the VSA to work properly again??? Thanks all for any help!!!

Unfortunately, it sounds to me like your tranny is heading for a vacation. Mine went about 36 hours after the VSA light refused to turn back off.

You can always take the TB off and clean it, but it sounds like you may be a lot better off heading in to the dealer and letting them figure it out.

The thing I took off was the part on the front of the throttle body that controls the primary butterfly. I'm not sure what its called. I put it back on and now everything runs fine except the VSA light and the yellow "!" stay on. It's shifting fine on both gradual accell and WOT up to 75mph anyhow...too scared to go higher than that till I figure what the F is wrong. Excuse my ignorance but what does the throttle body have to do w/ the tranny? I didnt think it had anything to do w/ it as far as the tranny going out.

Sounds to me like they are not saying that your tranny will go because of the throttle body, they are saying that because of the VSA light being on, that and I belive D5 flashing are both sings of your tranny about to go.

take it to a dealer unless your car is salvaged.

I kinda answered my own ? I just took'er around the block and there was no flashing during start up, put into gear waited...no flash, and no flashing while driving. So....no what.
BTW...thanks for all the help so far guys, better trouble shooting on here than waiting on the phone w/ the dealer!

lol...my mom took my CL away which is now located in Houston Texas for those who didn't know that before. She lets my older brother drive the car which I specifically told him not to use SS too much and if he did to not downshift like a douche which for some reason he never listens to me and now the Tranny went for a long ass vacation. I was amazed as to how long I had my first tranny without a problem until my brother had to kill the car. I made the assumption that the tranny went after she called me on the phone saying the TCS light didn't turn off even if she pressed the button and also the check engine light came up.

It should be too long of a day on the phone! "Hi Acuraservice dept, I need a new tranny..."

I am in the same boat, VSA and CEL come on and the car gets a little funky. Unnatural revving, rough shifting, and other such atrocities. You did say the CEL light came on and you researched the codes? Mine was definitely a tranny related code. I am guessing if you have an 03 you will still be covered under the 100k tranny warranty.

I did NOT pop a CEL...the code scanner said "no codes". I do have an 03 and it's between the VIN #'s covered so I'm all good (sorta, still a shitty tranny). I looked online tonight at work and found not one but TWO 6spds about 2 1/2 hours away see if they'll trade me straight up or maybe I'll have to take a slight loss but thats fine by me if I dont have to deal w/ this crap anymore! I'll just have to take my mods off so I'm not losing them...no big deal tho.

it sounds like you removed the VSA throttle body, make sure it is connected properly, the VSA throttle body is the first one in line on the intake tube, the 2nd throttle body is your primary one.

^^^^

Makes sence. Check those.

Also, for me, the last thing that came on was the CEL. The VSA light came on and it was about 2 days before the CEL came on.

Pics of what I F'ed with

Hopefully I did this right so you can see what the hell I did. I got off the phone w/ acura and they want $120 to diagnose it....I'll wait till the tranny dies and then tell them I know what the problem is. I also checked the fuses, and they're all good. When I start up the car the VSA light and the yellow triangle turn on w/ all the other lights and then go out for about 5 seconds and they you hear a click sound and they come back on. Any other ideas???

Inside this looks pretty clean, doesnt look like anything "gunked it up" as acura said

that is just your VSA throttle body, under the plastic shroud is your real throttle body

in the last picture, all the the way to the bottom left, i see a grey plastic clip not properly put in place. it almost sounds like your ABS system isn't charging properly. bc when the car starts, then you as you move you hear a 'grind' or 'whine' noise which is the ABS system turning over. it sounds like when yours tries to do that, it clicks and then doesn't, but i'd think a CEL would trigger.

When I start the car about 10-20 seconds later I can still hear the charging sound, I always wondered what it was, but anyhow like you said it might not be charging "properly" Still no CEL though.

I thought of this on the way to work tonight but I might be wrong....Doesn't the VSA work by applying the brake and/or cutting the throttle? If so since I was slamming on the breaks it wore the pads down to a point where applying the breaks to the needed wheel won't work b/c they're too worn down??? With all the guys that've had break probs. have you ever had the VSA light come on untill you changed the pads??? Thanks.
