Hey Hyde,
I understand where you're coming from and I'm not attacking you. Thanks for the heads up and for looking out. Shit happens. I mean it's like the problem with the tranny. Shit when I bought a 30K car I would never have expected to have problems with a major component within the first 2 years. I mean Honda/Acura always boasts about it's race heritage, but what kind of race car has weak ass tranny. I see this situation in the same light. I took the risk when I bought the rotors. Maybe I was part blinded by the good deal that was put in front of me. Either way there is always a risk. Not too many other people seem to have problems so maybe you just got "Friday" or "Monday" rotors. Like I said though dude thanks for looking out. I'll be sure to post some reviews once I get them on "CELESTE".

Yeah, Soopa...what's up? Is this perhaps a crappy set you happened to receive, or are other people having problems?

Soopa - Have you contacted Raceconcepts and seen about a return? I ordered/received rears and wont bother trying to put them on the car. Thanks

Just got off the phone with Woody at Race Concepts. They are aware of the mishap. Apparently, the wrong rears were shipped to raceconcepts for the CL-S. He is attempting to get the correct rotors now but he told me he may not be able to get them...he's not sure.

For those of you who have already ordered/received the rears, they are indeed WRONG for the CL-S, so you can email Woody at raceconcepts@sbcglobal.net and explain that you are part of the ACL Groupbuy and that you would either like the correct rears or just to get your money back.

Hope this helps guys. I'm bummed.

DAMMIT!!

Mine just came in...they sure LOOK pretty! And, I'm waiting to hear back from the dealer, who's gonna call the Acura rep about covering my warped rotors under warranty/TSB. I hope I hear soon from Woody that he'll have the correct rears in stock. This has not been my week...WTF!!!!!

just talked w/ woody he is very sorry about the rear rotor situation. He said his supplier sent him the wrong size for the rears and that he will either A. Refund everyone or B. have you guys send it back and he will send you the new ones.

As for the fronts they are now back ordered for 1 week as too many people ordered

Thanks, NOVA. I'll assume that Woody will explain this in a reply to my e-mail. I don't want a refund, though. I want the correct rotors. And, soon.

I just spoke to Woody. He'll hear sometime next week whether he'll be getting the correct rear rotors in. If he does, he'll reply to our e-mails, indicating that we can exchange the incorrect for the correct, or that we can return the incorrect for a refund. If we choose to exchange, he'll include a return shipping tag in the new shipment. If we choose to return for a refund, he'll send us a return shipping tag. So, it appears that we'll hear sometime next week what the story is.

Alright, I'm kinda worried about these rotors. What is causing this noise people are talking about? Is this happening to everyone? Does it have anything to do with "BEDDING"? Do all slotted/C/D or Dimpled rotors do this? Does it go away?

You guys that are hearing whistling on your rotors...
What set-up do you have?
Cross-drilled and slotted?

Are you guys with Slotted & Dimpled rotors hearing any noises?

Just bought in

Let's see how this works! I just bought four rotors and break pads for my '97 CL 3.0. I am having them cross drilled only as I want to get as much life out of the pads/rotors as possible (I drive about 30k/year). Price was right and this will be a great way to introduce myself to the world of auto mechanics! Hell, if I do a bad job installing the breaks I just hope I hit the wall hard enough not to notice.

noise in wheel

I was told by Dave from EuroBrake Co. that the noise is because although there is no "wrong" way to install cd/sl rotors there is a preferred direction that they need to travel to alllow the air to flow across the rotor during braking. This noise will not happen if the rotors are installed with the arch of the rotor traveling the same direction as the wheel. This is why he labels his rotors when he ships them. (Driver/Passenger) He agrees that this noise will be less over time as the pads/rotors wear but will never completely stop. Look at your rotors and see if they seem upside down or the drilling looks in the opposite direction of the tire.

I just sopke to Woody again. He is getting a stock rear rotor from the dealer today to compare to all the rotors he carries. He's gonna see if there's another rotor that would fit our cars. As soon as he compares the rotors and figures out if there's another one that would fit, he'll let us know. Not much info, but it's an update, I guess.

just installed the KVR Rotors from AutoCarParts.com on the rear... no problems.

BTW, the fronts from this group buy have broken in and are EXCELLENT. No noise after about 50 miles.

Im experiencing the same noise I mentioned before on the rears no... so I assume that its just the pads need to seat first.

thanks all.

jake... their the same color... you can get them from tim in Gold/Silver/Black...

its wickedly dark and rainy today... will be tomorrow too. but i will take pics on monday.

the color is the same as the fronts... only difference is these are drilled and my fronts are slotted/drilled...

ya their made by KVR, they come in a KVR box with KVR papers...

id assume their just KVR blanks that someone drills/plates.

they shipped out of canada so their certainly not done by tim himself.

DAMMIT, DAMMIT, DAMMIT!!!!

I just spoke to Woody, and he said the rears are different than anything he can get, so he'll be refunding us our money for the rears. Send him an e-mail with your info, and he'll send a shipping tag so you can return the rotors.

He said he can machine any rotors we get to look like the fronts, but I don't know how much it'll cost. Nor do I know how long it will take.

I am SOOOOOO F*CKING ANGRY right now!!

I just put my fronts on this weekend, and I bought them expecting that the fronts and rears would look like a matched set. F*CK, F*CK, F*CK, F*CK, F*CK!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I should just cancel my order all together... Do you guys think that $85 for SS Break Lines is still a good deal though?

Spoke with Woody last night, and he said that mine rotors will ship next week.. without the rear rotor of course...

Soopa, I'm thinking about getting the rear ACP rotors also from autocarparts.com, what do you think of them so far? and is $345.60 a good price on rotors? b/c according to Wood, the front breaks are doing most of the breaking anyway, so why is the rear breaks $100 more on the same website? Just wondering.

Thanks!

From those that got the front rotors installed, how are they holding up? As for the pads, are these safe for stock rotors? Thanks.
