shawn, thats what a smart man would do. I actually had the dealer agree to replace my rotors under warranty for the 2nd time but instead of using factory ones I said I would provide my own set. They said okay but next day I promised to sell my car to my friend so they are now just getting factory oem brakes.

20 dollars to the service guy everytime goes a LONNNNNNNNNNNNG way

He said that these are an OEM quality rotor by a company called EMC or ECM, I cant remember which. Nova, can you look into this. I think it is important that we all know exactly what we are paying for.

hmm I wasn't aware of this. I will talk to woody monday morning as he left for arizona tonight to pick up a new bike .

I just realized something. I went on the Brembo site, and they have brakes for the 2002 CL, but not the 2002 TL. This may be where the cunfusion is. I told him I have a TL. So he could be looking at the same info.

Im confused, on this website i have below they have the brembo rotors for $245 for the front and rear, and i know this is a GB and it should be cheaper, so i looked for something different and the only thing i could see was the coloring of the rotors.......one is silver other is brassy looking.

I am sorry of this is off topic, but I was wondering do you give the 20 to the guy that actually works on your car, or the guys who sets up the appointment, the price and so on. At my dealership the when I come in to do something I never even see the guys who does the work, I only talk to guys who just sits behind a computer. Is this the guy you tip?

dude, not to sound like an ass, but the prices are clearly indicated on the first page of this thread...and you can expect shipping to be signifcantly less than $33 since you're closer

Now I set it straight

Okay fellas...

Up to 1999, they are using BREMBO blanks
From 2000 to 2003 they are using EMC blanks..

All rotors are Zinc coated... they will rust after you burn threw the zinc coating... but so will any BIG BRAKE Brembo kit or any rotor.. They coat them so they are nice and shiney when you open them up since moisture will yield a rusty rotor.. and no one wants to open up a new package and see rusty rotors.. But mind you, after you install them and use them the ONLY area that will rust is the area where the pad is contacting the rotor.. so the ends will not look rusty like our OEM rotors....

Woody set me straight... I placed the order for the 4 rotors, brakes and SS lines... Suppose to ship out on Friday since the SS lines are on backorder.

P.S. if it makes you feel any better they did this group buy on the TL board last year and not one person had any problems so far.

Just order mine.. paid $429, for front and rear rotor, pads and breakline...

So what do you guys think? Should I install them when I get it, or hold on to it until my stock one go bad?? I think I want to do the lines either way, because I can't stand the way our stock break feels...

Here is something funny to think about. If they are OEM quality rotors that are made by someone else. Could we use our factory warranty to claim repairs .

Mr. Wood at race concepts is a wonderful guy to work with and he provides SUPERIOR service and GREAT products. I used to have a legend and was a art of www.acura-legend.com and over 100 of us got in on the special web pricing he gave us like this GB and NOT ONE person had a problem. I myself thought these brakes lines and pads were well worth double what he is charging b/c of the confidence they build when you slam on the brakes!. It's a shame these days that when a company treats you soooo good with such a GREAt product, it's considered out of the ordinary! but this is one guy I'll gladly fork over the cash for. And they stand by their roduct too , good people!

Good question mattg..

It's not like we drive on a race track everyday, so why would I want a pad that last half the life time as the metalmasters?

btw Matt, do you have any hookups for this installation? everywhere I go, they charge arm and a leg for it... and when I asked Woody how much work does he think it should cost.. he said like around $200... Thanks!

Damn.. I knew this was going to happen... As soon as I commit to any weekend plans, something I MUCH rather do will come up...

Sorry bro, I gotta go up to BC this weekend to see my family... Maybe next time... Lets have a thread in the Club events fourm to discuss all up coming events here in NW, and that way I can plan for it a head of time...

As for breaks, sure!! lets work something out... I hate to get ripped-off by the dealer!!!

btw, I order the SS lines, so I won't get mine anytime soon, so I will contact you as soon as I get them. Thanks!

Hey KulCL3.0,

I think the SS lines will help improve the "responsiveness" feel to the break peddle... I bought a set, because I can stand how our stock break feels right now...
