Gateshifting vs. SportShift
I hear Gateshifting is more effecive...but...when you gateshift and your gonna shift gears, do you let go of the gas a little, or keep flooring it? How about in SS, do you let go a little when you shift, or keep flooring it?

FLOOR IT ALL THE WAY BABY!!!
It takes a little practice to not hit the rev limiter.
I use 2 gals of 100 low lead or 110 octane Turbo Blue to increase the overall octane.
This give you 100-200 more RPM before the rev limiter kicks in
I am able to squawk 2nd EVERYTIME in any conditions with my 235/45/17 Nitto 555Extremes....

I do not think hiting the rev limiter ( moderately ) will slow you too much...
Check my times, Today I hit many time the rev limiter in 1-2 and 2-3 shifts and it did not hurt my times...
However, the first time I run in D1-D2-D3 and hit the rev-limiter so hard (I did not shift) I had to abort the run.... eshhhhh, I run 20sec at 50 MPH.....:o

correct me if i'm wrong, but if you use gateshifting excessively,
don't you put more wear and tear into your transmission?
Doesn't this apply to any automatic?
Or is this just a generalization?

is it just my car or do i have to shift around like 6500 to not let it hit the rev limiter.
If i shift at just before the redline I would hit the rev limiter for sure, I tried this so many times. but If I shift at around 6500 I'll just make it.
there seems to be a larger lag on my car, is it because i'm on my second tranny WTF.

Shouldn't be any wear difference on your tranny weather you are using SS or gate shifting. Its still an electronic tranny, so wherever you move the stick to, the computer will still decide if its ok. Only difference is you can control the 1-2 shift. The system still will not let you go into first when you are doing 80. Check out the manual page 182.
I also send the 'request to shift' to the tranny at redline, and about 200-300 rpm's later it shifts just before the cutoff.
