FPR Thread Spec?

Alright I've searched but keep finding conflicting answers. What is the thread spec for our Fuel Pressure Regulator? I need to buy an adapter to run a fuel pressure gauge. . .

I don't think it's a 6 AN fitting. On the SC install, there's a fitting that converts it to a 6 AN but I think the threads are NPT on the FPR port.

No, I need something with a male thread to go into the FPR block and a female thread for the FPR with an 1/8th" NPT female thread between (perpendicular to them) them for a Fuel Pressure Guage.

Something like this:

http://www.jegs.com/i/Moroso/710/653...oductId=746564

But I need to know the correct thread for the FPR?

Okay well I found a Comptech Supercharger checklist and they just list the adapter as 12mm to 6AN. So here's the next problem I don't know the pitch and have searched for hours and can't find an adapter that would work. It seems everything is converted to AN. . .

Another dilemma I'm having is I went to Lowe's last night with the stock FPR and it threaded into 1/4 in. NPT . . . I'll have to see if the shop is open tomorrow or maybe go to Fastenal and see if they can identify the thread and get me the adapter I need.

The thread is in fact M12x1.25 which makes life a living hell because no one makes adapters and it seems even the adapters that are made go to AN fittings. It will also thread into 1/2 in.-20 but seems a tiny bit loose. I think what I'm going to do is re-check how it threads into the 1/4 in. NPT and go from there. . .

The FPR will thread into 1/4 in. NPT about 5 threads which would be okay but it doesn't work the other way around; 1/4 in. NPT won't thread into the fuel block. Since no one makes the fittings to do this with the stock FPR it looks like I'm going aftermarket. . .

Do you have a fastenal located near you? They sell all kind of shit and can take what you have and usually give you what you need... They have never failed me.

i would still not do it, it's just a accident waiting to happen with it popping out

as far as adaptors go, look at hydraulic fittings if needed, such as here:

You could also tee off the banjo fitting.

Found this adapter made by Russell and it sounds like it could meet your needs: Russell Performance 640700 - Russell Fuel Pressure Take-Off Banjo Bolts

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-640700/

It replaces the banjo bolt that feeds the FPR block and has the 1/8 npt fitting on the top.

That still won't work because our cars have a pulsation damper where the fuel is delivered (the round plastic dome thing). So in other words its not a typical banjo hook up.

The round plastic dome thing is on the feed line. The FPR is on the return line. When replacing the FPR with an aftermarket unit, the stock feed line stays in place. Only the stock FPR is removed and the new return line is run from there. I think you may be looking at the wrong fitting.

Im not on my PC at home otherwise Id post a better pic, but you can see in this pic (courtesy anthracite_cl) that the stock feed line is untouched, and you can barely make out the new fitting under the engine cover for the return line.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I've got to ask. Why are you installing a Fuel pressure gauge and what are you trying to accomplish. Are you also installing an adjustable FPR?

^ That was actually going to be my next questions.

And regarding your post with the pic, yes, but my gauge is attached to the FPR which is mounted on the fire wall, so I just have a 90* fitting off the fuel block > stainless line > FPR.

I understand that, I'm not looking at the wrong fitting. My post was a reaction to the banjo fitting adapter. The banjo fitting he posted would replace the piece that the pulsation damper screws onto but it won't work because the setup is different that typical banjo fittings.

Yes I will be installing a aftermarket FPR now. The whole reason I was installing a fuel pressure gauge to begin with was to get ready for nitrous. Knowing what fuel pressure is, is kind of critical when spraying. If for some reason its too low engine goes boom. But since the fittings aren't available to plumb just a fuel pressure gauge cleanly without and aftermarket FPR I will be installing one. An adjustable FPR will help me out in a couple ways. It will help in tuning and the plumbing will give me an easy place to pull fuel from for the N2O kit(wet).
