The Final Thread over this...
I did some research over the actuator, and found that some of the S/C guys prefer to have their actuator disconnected to prevent knocking.
I've also read that it is powered from an electric motor.
So my question is, what should those running on nitrous do? Have it disconnected or have it working properly? Also, since it's an electric motor that keeps it functioning, is it just attached to the manifold with 2-3 bolts? Is it easy to replace yourself? Or is there more to it than I'm reading/seeing from pics. I'll soon have the Type S head in my car, and want to familiarize myself with the common problems that occur in the CLS cars. If mine isn't working, I'd like to install a new one. Is it as easy as that? Thanks in advance.

It is a very easy part to replace and very inexpensive (around $100). Not sure on the N2O question though. I believe Mattg (ran a 75 shot) left his connected. Also, you don't need to physically remove the motor to disable this feature. All that is needed is to disconnect the wiring harness. No DTC is stored, no CEL, etc.
the reason anyone disconnects the imrc is for detonation. i was detonating the other night (esm is back in the car, no emanage to retard timing) and i tried disconnecting it. i read another 1 lb boost (due to less volume) and the detonation was pretty much gone!
So your solution: you should leave it connected unless you hear detonation.
