alright my driver door won't unlock... i barely got the door panel off since its from the inside... but the lock won't go all the way up... alarm won't get it up, pulling hard won't, key won't...

any suggestions?

 

when i unlock with key from passenger door or alarm, the passenger door will unlock, then lock b/c the driver door doesn't unlock.... so i have a split second to open the passenger door.

somethiing tells me its the lock mechanism that is jammed or something

 

if possible, try taking the door panel off and see if it's caught on something. sound like the actuator might be shot.


BTW- you got your car back from the paint shop? pics please.

 

got it back, needs to be repolished, mufflers realigned, so the rear lip isn't on yet.

give me a few weeks.

i can't take the door panel off completely which is frustrating as hell since the dash is in the way of the clips coming off, thus its like fishing blindly, but nothing is preventing the actual lock to go up, i checked for 1 hour....

i might have to cut off the clips... ayiah... any other suggestions?

can you here the actuator inside the drivers door trying to open?
if the doors are locked don't they automatically unlock when you open it from he inside?

 

yup, when i use the alarm or key from the passenger door, it tries to open, so the switch goes up about half way, then shoots back down

 

Did you get any signs that this would happen beforehand or is this just new? Just started out of the blue?
