Comptech Header = more vibration at idle?

I am having problem with the vibration, after i swapped the stock header for comptech header, i feel more vibration throughout the car when i am in Drive and idling. Once the car moves, the vibration stops, but occasionally i hear random vibration sound from dashboard or seats during driving. Is it common problem? is there anything I can do to solve the problem? Maybe I didnt tighten all the bolts or ...?

Maybe they weren't installed correctly. I had zero problems after install.

i have a TINY bit of this i've noticed, but sounds like you get way more vibration. this especially happens, as little as it does, when its cold out. i only get the vibrations when im stopped at a light at idle, but when i take off they are gone. mine's barely noticable, but just sharing to show someone else has noticed what your talking bout...

i had my headers on for about a year, and its obviously nothing, and hopefully yours is nothing as well...

i dont think i have idle vibration. check all the bolts are torqued to spec. make sure nothing is touching the headers like the oil pan, which i think is quite unlikely. if you can get it on a lift, check to see if the rubber hanger near the oxygen sensor is good. and lastly see if the motor mounts are ok. maybe a bad O2 sensor now that could cause a rough idle?

now im curious if it might be the CL-P base version...hmmmm...i know what he's talkign bout but no Type-S guy does...maybe a difference in the 2 cars no one has ever considered.

any other CL-Pers with more data for us?

i had a perfessional racing team overcharge me to put them in, this all goes back to my assumption they did it right...

i just read a little on this, and people even in Type-s's claim they get it when its cold out [but probably not too cold by you]...i also hear it could be bad motor mounts b/c some say they've had it without having headers on the car...

First thing that comes to mind is that rubber hanger, make sure it was re-installed properly.

Today i jacked up the car and retighten all the bolts, it is more stable now and feel MUCH better. I guess I was just too tired when tighting the bolts after all the hardwork from uninstalling the stock one.

I thought of motor mount too, but again the car was fine before i install it.

Only vibration i've noticed on my CL-P was after i had the custom exhaust done. but thats more because of the higher airflow i suppose. headers are very quiet. bad install maybe.

Im not sure what version of the Comptech headers you got, but I had issues with the flex pipe section being WAYYY to stiff, I had to take the headers off and bend the shit out of it then reinstall.

This was causing 2 symptoms, the one you mentioned in regards to heavy vibrations and it was also making a clunk sound when shifting it out of park.

Goodluck bro

I would check to make sure nothing on the entire exhaust system is touching anything. I have installed numerous sets of Comptech headers and never had a vibration. I had them on my own vehicle and I never had a vibration. Check the connection to the cat and the hanger. Sometimes the hanger goes bad and you need to replace it.

Sounds like droning to me. The fact that you hear vibrations/rattles in dash and seats, makes it sound like certain sound frequencies from the exhaust are causing little things that are lose to rattle.

Did you re-tune/chip the car for the headers?

i have ths same issue on my comptech flex pipes for my accord. I had my car lifted up while on and found out that the flex pipe was vibrating hard when the car is warmed up at idle. Hey Pits 200 where did you bend the flex pipe to solve your problem. Thought it was the way i installed them but when i put my megans back on the vibration was gone. i just wish the megan didnt resonate
