dc header installation problem!

i know this could have gone in problem and fixes but i wanted to get the most responses possible and i know some of you all dont check there often....

so i finally bought dc headers (newer style of course), along with all new exhaust and new oil pan to get installed. the shop has had my car since last friday and they have called me twice (last time was yesterday) saying the headers dont fit, saying the front set fit fine but the rear is hitting a motor mount etc...im going there in the morning to look at whats going on. they may have fixed the issue but can anyone give me some pointers or info to pass along from those of you who have successfully done this install. thank you so much!

Well if you have a 6 speed, it's not going to fit.

I think he's auto. It is tight but they fit. They could try removing the rear mount, installing the header, then putting the mount back on.

Someone had this exact issue where DC sent them 2 front headers. Could have happened to you as well.

They may have to remove the rear mount bracket to get it to go on.

Shift Fast Motorsports ftw. How much did you pay for the headers?

Don't have my car back yet, they just got the headers on. I recorded a sound clip of the car at idle with just headers. Sounds so aggressive! I'll try to upload it in the morning. Exhaust will be finished on Friday. My quote I got was for all the work including putting on a new oil pan that took its last hit.

This is my first time over at shift fast, was gonna take it to eurowise, so far I'm very pleased!

How hard would it be to shave down the rear motor mount to make the DC headers fit on a 6 speed?

I know this thread is several months old but I'm in the market for headers for my 6 speed. Is there a way to make the DC headers fit? Is there a company other than XS that makes a set? I have an Audi S4 and XS has a bad rep with the Audi guys.

One guy shaved his rear motor mount. There is comptech who made headers for the 6speed but they are discontinued. You could search different sites to see if anyone has any in stock. (They need to have a bend in the rear header to fit). But comptech are pricey new.

Thanks gnuts. Looks like the CT's are the way to go. I guess I'll keep an eye out for a used set.

I just came across this listing for the DC headers. Look at the 3rd picture from the left. It looks like it has the bend to clear the motor mount.

It won't fit, but that bend is really suspicious. I wonder if it's just the pictures or they updated the part.

Maybe Josh @ XLR8 can confirm? I'm pretty sure it's just the picture. Real product won't have that much of a bend.

It looks like you are right. I received confirmation that they are auto only. However the guy said DC is releasing 6 speed version sometime in the next 6 months. Don't know how true it is but at least there is hope.

I know currently the DC Sports headers won't fit the CL-S6 but maybe as posted above they are revising it.

Not for the 2G TL/CL. DC is the only consistent company who I would trust.
