Custom Engine BAY Cover

Custom Engine Bay cover (not just the engine)?
Anyone seen or done something like this?

I was thinking of doing something out of carbon or kevlar to hide all the mess and give it a little show car feel.

this is what I want it to look like

thoughs?

Seems like it's going to cause it to be more difficult to get good air circulation through there which could cause temp issues and performance drops. Also think it looks really stupid.

I hate the way new cars look with all that plastic shit covering the engine bay.

I can see more custom gucci panels.

The more stuff you have to take off working on the car makes working on the car take longer.

I see that as something for show cars, but even then the point is to have a clean engine bay so everything can be seen.

Id rather clean up the engine bay and do a wire tuck.

damn, ok never mind.
And no it "was" gonna be carbon to match my carbon hood if I get one soon, not gucci.
And there's no way performance would be affected with a good cooling system and properly working temp sensor....

I'm thinking of using my old hood to try a cut out one day, seriously.
Or at least trying to make a cowl hood out of it.
Not a plain straght looking one but one that would follow the hoods lines.

OP
The one piece you have between the radiator hose and the intake tube might actually be a good idea if it had a actual use like having a heat blocking set up on the under side to help sheild the intake and filter from heat because that don't look bad and definitly would be a nice custom piece then.

I honestly think everyone would like it once its done.
But yeah I have some carbon, mold release and epoxy from my diy fenders on my old car and have though about making a hood and maybe a trunk. (to use for race/shows)

Dont have all the pics(pc was stolen at school a while back)
here some of them and other things i made.

diy carbon bazel

The trunk that took me 3 day straight, weighted 25oz's with no skeleton under it one heavy coat of clear.

and the hood, took a week, fiberglass mesh/fiberglass mat/carbon/two coats clear. had a ton of flaws in the pattern but cost next to nothing.

Carbon gas door

also made eyelids, and you can see the hood fitment it a tad off.

Guys do it on the chargers & magnums & 300's engine bays. But it's more for show use. Have to agree on a car like the Acura there would be heat issues if you were sitting in traffic.

See now this is more like what I am going for, without the pin striping and made of carbon.

I looked into these for my car. Way too much $ for such a thing when my hood is closed 99% of the time. Plus the sites that sell then sell them bare so you have to paint them to match on top of the costs to buy them.
