Whatever happened to that Comptech header group purchase from Diamond Bar Honda? I think the deal was around $1000 for the headers and $99 for the install. I'm looking for the headers now and wonder if they would be willing to honor those prices.

I don't know. I think it just sort of collapsed, some folks backed out probably. Too bad, I think so cal type s worked hard to make it happen for us.

Anyhow, I've just ordered headers and some other stuff through Tim, AKA snook789, at autocarparts.com. I ordered on Monday but heard on Tuesday that Comptech was temporarily out of headers, and that Tim would advise when Comptech was ready to ship again.

My other parts arrived today, which I think is pretty fast, even for NoCal to SoCal. I have to say that the customer service/communication at autocarparts.com has been really good.

I'd shoot an email to Tim and see if he's got any bargains going, It's definitely cheaper than ordering direct from Comptech, you save %8 tax, and shipping is probably the same either way.

Good question. Yes, I live in California, but the company which I ordered from does not live in California. It doesn't matter where the parts are shipped from to me. At any rate, no tax to me.

 

heya! glad to see you got the headers! you know i was trying hard to find us a great deal. oh well.

what other goodies did you get? buy rims!

oh and remember those swaybars, well, my car seems pretty stiff now for some reason, or the roads increased potholes by 20%. i dunno?

I APPRECIATE HIS EFFORTS.. BUT IN THE END I GOT BLUE BALLED SO IF ANYONE IN SO CAL WANTS TO GET HEADERS, COUNT ME IN WITH THEM.

not really. i told you, the dealer would not honor our group buy, and instead of lowering the costs for the total of 4 cl's, he instead raised the price! it was not worth it, and even after the "group buy price", tim's 1015 price and 21 shipping is still less than the dealers, because of tax (since it is in cali). .so tax on the headers, and tax on the installation = the price of tim's headers, and installing it ANYWHERE.

well, anyways, good luck on purchasing the headers.
