Cold Air Intakes Which Is Better?
Cold Air Intakes Which Is Better?
I see different CAI's on websites. I'm wondering which one is better. Are they the same, just with different names, & prices. I know alot of you guys have the AEM ones, but I see others that are less expensive that look the same. I also see the 2 piece ones that if I got the bypass thing, I wouldn't have to cut the pipe. I really don't want to cut a $200+ item I just bought.
Thanks
Thanks

performance is basically the same...sound is basically the same.
Yeah most people here will prolly say AEM cause they are the bigger name here. But seriously, all these intakes basically operate off the same principles and are made pretty much the same. From here, it's just name recognition. I'm saying AEM just cause I got mine cheap... if I got the injen, I'd say injen.. (though I dunno if I'd say X )

Too much for me....Personally, I'm going with an Injen. From what I've been reading on TL.com, they seem to fit a little better on the TL-S'. No matter which one you get, buy it from autocarparts.com!!
Ok thanks guys. I 'll decide on one soon. Next question....Any other online sites to buy from? Except autocarparts. They seem a little expensive, especially with shipping costs.

I wouldn't take the $380 at face value. Comptech hasn't put a firm price on the icebox yet. I'm sure they are considering the competition out there so let's not rule them out based on a cost figure that may not even be accurate.
Don't only look at pricing. Customer service among web vendors is #1 for me. I want to know that someone will answer my emails within a day. I want to know that I won't be cheated and that my part will be shipped ASAP. I want to know that the owner is legit and has many good references.
To the old folks....we all know that Snook/Tim the owner of www.autocarparts.com is probably one of the most trustworthy and reliable vendors out there. He usually answers his emails within a day or two and will give you updates on your orders and answer all ur questions without dodging them. I've always had good experiences ordering from them and his site is also #1 rated at my AccordV6 site. We've got a list of vendors to buy from and avoid on our faq if anyones interested.
So what if its $5 or even $10 more.....he'll try his best to match prices and even if he can't....at least I sleep better knowing that I'll get my stuff. You should feel lucky to even get a response out of 90% of the vendors out there.
Ok..I'm off my soapbox now...I just can't help it. I've read too many posts about people bitching out lousy service, lost parts, not sent parts, and being cheated....and this is AFTER we tell them to goto a good vendor. All this just to save a few bucks....sorry..I don't think its worth it.
