car care products you use
I have a silver 2003 cl-s6...
I'm looking for the best wax possible... what do you use... especially if you have the silver one.
and about, any other car care products? Do you have any good finds?

I just bought some Zaino but I haven't tried it yet. A LOT (real lot) of people on this forum swear by Zaino. Last year I used Zymol which is one of the best carnuba waxes you can buy. Zaino is a polymer I believe. I also use either McGuiers (sp?) detailer spray and Zymol detailer spray (I have both and use whatever I grab first). They both work well. I also use Eagle One chrome cleaner for the exhaust tips and to get any discoloration off the the wheels. For the leather inside I use Lexol. Pretty much the best stuff it seems from what I have heard around here. i've only used it once so I can't really say.

i've never heard of zaino before, but it sounds like it might be pretty good from what i've read here. i'm gonna give it a try. a body shop guy told me its really important that you first use a good surface cleaner before the wax...you don't want to seal in all that junk that imbeds itself into the clearcoats surface.

I use Zymol for wax, 3M Hand Glaze beforehand, when I finish it, I'm buying the Zaino Trio (ZFX, Z2, Z5?). I use Mother's Clay Bar. Interior leather I use Lexol. Plastics I use 303 Aerospace Protectant. Rubber, I use Black Magic. Wheels, I wash with soap and water and apply Meguire's wax on them to keep them dust free and easily maintainable.

what could be a good surface cleaner? Have any examples?
mrkite:
If your paint is in good condition to start with, for a cleaner, I would use a fine hand polish or paint cleaning clay (very easy - works great). After cleaning the surface, then follow with wax.
Ive been detailing cars as a hobby for over 25 years now, and I've tried many things over the years. I've been using nothing but carnuba (for a wax) for about 15 years now and have no reservations about doing so.
I personally use Griot's Garage products now and have for over 10 years. Since I started using these products, I have not looked at anything else. I believe that these products truly are "Car care for the perfectionist!" Go to www.griotsgarage.com . I love the paint cleaning clay and the best of show carnuba based wax (although liquid carnuba wax typically has less carnuba in it, it seems to work great for me). I have not tried the Zaino
products.
If you want a wax specifically formulated for light colored cars, try Zymol. They used to make Zymol Creme paste carnuba (33% pure carnuba) and they also had a Japon wax - specifically formulated for cars made in Japan. I don't know if that is the case now, since so many of the "imports" are now made here in North America. I don't know what type of paint they use - if it is different now or not. In any event, you can't go wrong with the "old style" zymol carnuba wax in the clear round plastic containers. I always had to mail order it though.

On silver, there really aren't any bad products, just whatever you do, do not buy the Zymol they sell in the blue bottle at Walmart, KMart.... it's basically Turtle Wax repackaged.
I'm a big Zaino fan. I also like Meguiars, used that for years on my Integra.
