Air fresheners

Passed by the car section at Walmart and noticed a bunch of new styled air fresheners, probably because none the old ones work And likely none of the new ones will either.

Any of you use a freshener regularly? The problem is fresh air brought in more than snuffs out anything from the product...

My wife likes air freshener products whereas I despise them with a passion. They are overpowering and irritate my nose.

I prefer to occasionally air out the car by driving with the windows open. Also, on my last mile before I reach home, I open the windows and turn off the AC; this lets the condenser dry out and prevents mold from growing (which could smell like old socks).

If you need to mask odors, try a sheet of fabric softener (Bounce) under the seat.

Oil or gel based air fresheners.

I use either the treefrog or diax branded bricks, they easily last 2-3 months. Stuff them under your seat

I don't use any air freshener regularly. I try not to use them by keeping my car clean. But the only air freshener I've ever liked enough to use (a few times) is from Air Spencer. The squash scent is the best.

Little Trees have been around forever for a reason. They work. I will admit, I'm a bit excessive with them. I hang one from the mirror and one from the ashtray in the back seat. I change them out every week to two weeks, and hang the old ones in the trunk. I chunk them all in about a month. I think the keys to air fresheners are:

1. Stick to one scent
2. Replace regularly (so the scent stays)

Also, I clean my carpets with Resolve. It has a fresh scent. And I clean and condition my leather with Lexol products. They have a mild saddle soap smell.

Other smell good advice.

1. Don't tote smelly fast food in your ride; at least not often.
2. Clean your carpet and seats periodically. This not only preserves your interior, but it gets the funk out of the fabrics.
