Bose Bypass?

I am looking at putting an aftermarket HU in my 2002 3.2 CL. I talked to one installer who said my car had the factory Bose amp and it would need to be bypassed. Another said that the amp was in the Bose head unit and changing to a new head unit would work. My car doesn't have the factory Sub. Any suggestions would help. If it does have the amp that needsa to be bypassed, does anyone know exactly where it's at?

Thank you

the amp is in the trunk on the right side behind the right rear wheel. if you were to bypass it you have to jumper all the wires past the amp there. the headunit sends a 4volt signal on four sets of wires, four speakers, into the amp. the amp then sends the high power signal to the speakers from there.

Would it be easier/better to just run new Speaker wires from my new Head Unit?

you can run new speakers wires from the amp (the input wires...not the output) to the headunit, that would prob be easier

I didn't know that amp would work with another head unit... if I was to do that it would probably be in my best interest just to put a new amp there, huh?
