I agree 100% - A bazooka is only going to give you boom - not sound quality. That small little enclosure of a bazooka tube makes it impossible to achieve clarity with any kind of volume.

Yea you should able to get a nice amp and your JL sub for around that price. Have you ever considered other subs than JL Audio?

Yeah, no bazooka, it just makes noise basically. You might want to consider Alumapro.

It'll be close if you do the install. Look for some sales. If you need to skimp, skimp on the driver- MTX or something. Don't skimp on the amp (most people do if they cut corners). If you skimp on the driver, you can always re-use the box and installation later. It can be tougher to replace an amp. Also, the amp should normally cost more than the driver, meaning you've got less money sitting in the closet.

Finally, a crappy amp can ruin a good driver (distortion, clipping).

maybe if you go with the W3's, the w6's are more expensive. Start looking for sales or check out ebay. But make sure that you get a good amp.........because that's what really matters.

The JL-W6 is a 6 ohm driver so make sure u have enuf juice to run it. They will work in really small enclosures as well...probably will take up less room than the Bazooka tube.

A 12 will hit lower, but the 10 will be more precise. Depends what you are going for.
If you can afford it.... power it by one of those new JL Audio amps... they are pretty nice.

I say go with the JL 250/1 amp that runs 250W RMS and put that on a 10 or 12 W3. The will sound just as good as the W6 but be cheaper. I have the JL 500/4 (75X4) and it sounds dam good!
