Am I missing something? - Gascap problem

Ever since I got my car, I have noticed how difficult it is to place the gascap in the holder on the gas door.

Is there a piece missing? I can't believe that acura made such a junk gas holder

pic:

When I try to place the cap there, it barely holds it. Please tell me I am missing a piece!!

LOL

I know, that is where I "attempt" to put it, but it never stays!

It just falls off unless I catch a sweet spot

Mine has a rubber/plastic piece that it seems that you're missing.

Gas cap fits perfect in there.

See the dealer.

Move to Jersey, then you won't have to worry about such stuff as you never have to pump your own gas.

wow! awesome!

Thanks for the pics edgalang

Going to the dealer first thing tomorrow to see if I can get that part!

PS, my girlfrined lives in NJ, so I always gas up out there.

The thing that was killing me was that the gas attendant would try to mount it on the gas door, and when it fell off they would always end up throwing it on the trunk!!

So, just keep one of those jackets that says INS in big letters across the back, and next time one of the attendants tosses it onto the trunk, put it on and jump out the car. They'll shit their pants scared.

I dont have one of those either, and since I have only pumped my own gas about 5 times since I bought it, I didn't really notice it till a few months back. Wondered the same thing but no need, they always put the cap on top of the pump.
