Went fine...I told them what was wrong and he first asked me if there were lights on like the check engine light. I told him no and if you run the car on the computer it will not show up anything as well...but I offered to show him what I was talking about. He told me no need and ordered me one. I LOVE my dealer sometimes

ack!
good to know to keep an eye out... I checked mine out last week and I'm ok...

I had someone else rev it up (albeit slowly, not a la FAQ video) while I looked under the hood...
Where is the throttle cable to pull on to rev it up from under the hood? Do I have to take the engine cover off to get to it?

good to know honda/acura fixes common problems when they happen over and over again on a few model years of the same car....
what a joke, i guess its probably safe to say the 02 and 03 auto trannys are just as big of piles of shit as the 01 trannies...i got 5500 miles on my 02 now and so far no problems, but if and when it happens, i wont be surprised...my actuator however still works...wonder how long that will last!

Ok...

I've looked at the FAQ pics. and read all the discussions and I still don't have a freakin' clue where to look for the Acuator under the hood. Would someone take a couple pics. and circle the damn thing so I can check mine???

Can someone explain to me how you notice when your driving that is not working anymore?

I know how to look under the hood, just wondering what it feels like when your driving.

You're car will feel very sluggish especially after you pass around 3800rpm. That's is when the actuator/butterfly valve is supposed to open the second intake runner. You should also be able to hear it. Normally the engine sound gets louder.

OK question. A friend and I were fooling around with the actuator that is broke in my car. We can manualy turn it and it will stay where ever you put it. So I have it turned to the on position and I can tell that it is not as slugish as when it is turned in the off position. Now does this mean that when its turned on its on all the time....even below 4k where it normaly clicks on?? Is this bad for the car till it gets fixed?? It is just awfuly slow when its off....I almost cant stand it

NOLACLS,
It only clicks open after 3800k and so it is closed up until that point.

You missed the point I think....mine does not move anymore after 3800rpm....its broke...so I have to get another one, but it can be manualy turned to be clicked on but it does not click off unless you manualy move it yourself. So if I am sitting at idel...its on....if I go above 3800 rpm...its on...get it now?

So what your saying is you should be going faster than ever, right? But for some reason now, I think that would also lose down low torque for you or something...? Do some highway runs...this could be interesting.

I understood perfectly. I am just not sure if there are any harmful affects. There shouldn't be as it is only a intake runner. Go for it.

I didnt think it would be harmful either...I was figguren something like loosing low end but to tell you...I cant really tell a difference...I mean it doesnt seem to lag so bad between3-4k like when its off but I dont know that it has as much as it did before. What ever it is it's to slight to tell. I will ride like this till I get the new one...and then I will see if I can tell any difference. with it oped there is definetly not as much lag between 3-4k.
