holly shit i just got back from running a brand new ass vette!!!!! i was going on I-5 and my boy in an eclipse was driving ahead of me, when all the sudden a vette pulls next to him and give his the signal; they go and i am following the eclipse. they go at it but after 2 sec the vette start's to pull so i had to get in her lane and show her who's boss! I drop it into D3 and gunned it i was on her ass for a long ass time. i mean i got out of 3rd (115mph) and was going into 4th once i did that i was creepin up on her, so i moved over a lane to pass and there was a slow moving car so i had to jump back behind her. By now im going 125, and still ridding her ass and the hole time the chick was looking in her rear view window like WTF i should dust this jocker. we were going about 130 when i desided to slow down and my my lil bro convinced me to persue, so i did and was right back on that ass. we did so till i got to 137 in 4th revving at like 6k i then i slowed and she kept on going. I got off the exit ramp and i was shaking!!! I've never gotten my CL that fast and i was damn proud. I mean, damn this is a vette I was racing and i was creepin on her slowly. Don't know much about it but it was a yellow convertible with duals commin out the center of the rear bumper. All i got is a Ractive intake and a magnaflow muffler. and man if i had a camera i would have hade my lil bro video tape it but we didnt.
Sorry this post was so long but I got a lil excited runnin with a big boy. the smallest block on that body style is a 5.7 liter V8 345hp and 350 torgue, and the fastest one had a 5.7 litter 385hp and 385 torque

no she knoew what she was doing i got an intake and muffler. the women though i had nos and was spraying but i dont have nos but the very end she wasnt pushing it hard. put it this way from 90 to 130 i was an all out race. but when she hit 130 she was pushing but not all the way while i was pushing the hole time i still think that is a good race i mean neck and neck from a 90 mph roll on all the way though 130!!!

ps i talked to the girl today and she said she was racing

 

She was probably in 6th gear from 60mph and kept cruising. Sorry but even a Supercharged 3.0CL and NOS on top of that would have its ass handed by a Vette. Good try though.

Well, if it was a convertible, the most powerful engine it could have in it is the LS1, 5.7L/350. 345hp. I'd bet it was an auto, and also that It probably was an older one. Not the new C5's. I'd bet on a C4. Even a C4 with an auto and lotsa miles will toast just any 3.0.

I'm not saying you werent lying, but it is kinda uneleivable.

Ok so here's the deal.........I saw the same chick at a restaurant nearby and she said that it was a 2002 and that it had base 345 so that makes it an LS1 according to you guys right?? Well her boyfriend who was riding with her said that she was only runnin at about 3,000 when we were at about 135. I'm guessin she had an auto and didn't drop it into a lower gear before getting too fast to down shift with the auto. Know what I mean??? Anyway he said that they were surprised that I was keepin up so well. I never said that I beat the chick, just that I hung with her. My younger brother actually started this post as if it were him drivin so sorry if this is a little confusing. Anyway. Guy asks me if I have NOS and I said no. He said "next time lets go at a light".......I declined knowin damn well I'd get smoked. NO OFFENSE, but a 3.0 cl would not keep up with very many vettes, much les the brand new automatics. There is almost no way, even through tranny losses that you would ahve kept up with this vette. Maybe she just wasn't racing. I love the CL but I also know what it can and can not do.

Dude, I have gotten my ass handed to me by C-5Vettes, I know now the difference between one racing and one cruising, HUGE DIFFERENCE.

I think it was cool ya'll were both over 120mph though.

 

I did the same kind of thing the other day. I rolled up to this light and saw a new Z06 the light went green and I pulled him by 5 lengths by the time I hit second. I was feeling pretty good until I realized the car was parked.

I didn't launch and ran along with him for the fun of it. TL-S was actually moving faster than I expected, and I just kinda let him have it since he had his girl and all. Maybe that C5 did the same? Kinda let you have your moment? Oh, I was driving my M Roadster at the time, just for clarification.
