Heh u and I are in the same boat. But form what I've read here, is that the changes for the 02 model aren't gonna warrant the extra savings you'd lose if you opted for the 02 over the 01 model. But this is getting to me... if I'mg onan finance the damn thing, what's another 3K over 4-5 years? Negligible?

 

I called 1-800-TO-ACURA and the girl told me 2002 cl is going to come out in september 01, it's gonna be pretty much the same.

 

i tried to email you but it bounced back to me. do you know how much he has left on it? if he lives in the bay i would like to come and see it. please reply soon. i might buy a bike by saturday. thanks

The 2002 CL's will not be out until approximately late September. There has
been no information released as to changes on the vehicle.

thats the email i got back from a acura dealer i emailed regarding the 2002 cl. I feel you i want to get it but i dont want to buy the 2001 then see that the 2002 has a different back, im just gonna wait for the 2002 cause i hate the back on the 2001. Just gotta hope the 02 is different, and if not at least i got a 1 year newer car

Heh it's bad enough that I gotta wait till August to buy.... and I'm STILL pondering 2002 vs. 2001. Not cause of the style but the year of the car.... I saw a Red S on the road yesterday... all I've been thiking of since is: "WHEN IS IT GOING TO BE AUGUST???"

 

yea me 2, but if its basically the same car i would rather get the 2001 for a couple thousand cheaper. u can get a 2001 cl-s for about 30k now, 2002 gonna be alot higher when it comes out. i just hope i can find a 2001 in august when the 2002 comes out

I was wondering that myself... how much more the 02 would be than the 01. Also, if u finance the thing, it's negligable over 4-5 years for what we're paying for the car anyhow. Also, given the CL's track record of sales, I'm hoping the dealers are less inclined to price them high as they may see a repeat of this year and end up with a glut of 02's when the 03's come out. Another reason maybe for Acura putting out the 02 late this year instead of one year after the launch (March) maybe to sell off all the remaining 01's. If the 02 does indeed come out in September, having the product cycle extend 2 quarters would almost prove this

 

Don't hold your breath on this one. You may see a new front end with real fog lights in the grill, but cosmetically, that's probably about it.....
