01 cls vs 02 MDX throttle body comparison

I Acura wants over 900 for the throttle body. I'd pay it if I knew that was the issue but I ain't going to drop almost a g on a whim.

I have an 02 mdx that's working greats. I was wondering if I can take its throttle body off and swap it onto my cls and have the intake bolt up to it. I dunno if it is the same size as the cls. I know it will bolt up but that's it.

Much appreciated for whatever input comes my way in advance fellas. Thanks

Could I just buy this and try it or is that not going to work? I dunno if it's for the vsa or for the actual throttle body itself..... :-(

The MDX tb is bigger & the map sensor on top isn't the same as the CL.. at least the 6 spd anyways

Can you remove the tps? Isn't it a hex head? Get one from a junk yard for cheap. Look on kijiji for green lane auto parts. They have lots of CL and TL's there.

Or buy a blox b series throttle body.....74mm, comes with tps.

For the TPS, I'd recommend slotting the screws with a dremel & cutting disk. You can then unscrew it with a flathead screwdriver.

I had a TPS that went bad on me, it wasn't changing voltage at all when I moved the throttle plate. I slapped a new one on and re-calibrated it with a multimeter and I was good to go.

I have an 03 MDX TB on my intake mani. I hacked apart my TL-S (same as CL-S) working on my dual TB intake mani and used the TB that came with my J35a3 motor i used for my 3.7 conversion.

You can remove the TPS. Just slot or grind off the heads that hold it on. Then with the sensor removed unscrew the remaining parts of the screws. You can get aftermarket TPS sensors that work. All you need is 2 new bolts/screws and a volt meter to properly adjust the sensor range.

To add

Some aftermarket tps's ,if you happen to go that route, are unable to be adjusted to factory volt spec. You will need to widen the 2 screw holes to create room for more adjustment.

Roger that fellas I ordered one from omni on eBay for 60 this morning with shipping and duties and the horrible conversion rate.

Car is still sitting at my mechanics cause I don't feel like driving a brand new rebuilt Trans when something is mKing it slip.

The car does like a 2-400rpm flare before getting into the next gear. 1-2.2-3 and 3-4 I believe. And only under minute throttle. only happens when car is at full temperature.

I was reading the Acura bible and it says the tps, and the barometric pressure sensor and the manifold absolut pressure signal are what tell the Trans when to shift. Along with the rpm input.

So hopefully it's the tps or the manifold pressure sensor. If the tps doesn't work I guess I will try the map sensor?

Also.. Cause the car has been sitting for a couple months now.. The hood struts died, the cooling fan relay has gone rogue and turns the fan on randomly. And my battery died to the point it won't hold a charge more than 6 hrs.

Like holy shnikeeze. This car obviously is pissed off its not being driven

I know like this thing shit the bed this year. And it happened right before I went to Peru for 2.5 weeks which was like 4 grand after all said and done.

Thank god I've been a hermit lately and just saved or else I'd have literally be putting the Cl on the sidelines for God knows how much longer.

But in the mean time I'm trying to stAy optimistic and just save and save. Cause I know one thing. Money will fix that damn car. And I want my baby back
