sunroof and drivers windows problem

im dropping by the dealer today, but wanted to know if anyone else is having these problems

when i tilt my sunroof, i hear an audible electric pop at the end of the tilt cycle. if i try it over and over, no pop. if i wait a few minutes, it will start again. its only when opening the sunroof to the tilt position.

my drivers windows "chatters" when it goes down and up, around 60& of the time.

I've never heard of the moonroof thing before, but I know my windows started squeaking after about 2-3 weeks of ownership. I clean the window lining, and it's quiet for one pass....then it becomes noisy again

Yes, I had the same problem when my car was only a few months old. I never had it checked..bad mistake..I have an appointment with the dealership this wednesday as the click as progressed into a rattle while the moonroof is completely shut. I suggest that you nip the problem while it is young..

Mine does that as well, however, after keeping the car on for a few minutes, the pop goes away. Try doing it again after a good drive =]

But I'm having this checked out at my first service as well.

when i arrived to show the problems, the drivers window had the notchy sound when going down, so my service advisor saw that right away. the sunroof tilt pop thing wouldn't happen. i left to go home after making a appt for oil change and window fix in august, then it started again 5 minutes away, so I went back and he heard it right away. appt for thursday. need to pull headliner to further diagnose. good to hear others are having the sunroof problem. if anyone knows what fixed the sunroof problem, please chime in. the window problem should be fixed with a adjust and lub when the door skin is off, per my advisor.

well, they did the seat tsb, the window fix and looked at the sunroof. the window noise is still there, took a few days to come back, although its not as bad. they said they couldnt reproduce the sunrooof pop, but did look at it and lubed it. they said it isnt electrical but mechanical. a zap is a zap. its still making the pop sound. anyone else have theirs diagnosed ? i need help to point the service dept to the problem.

Yea, I've noticed the same thing. I cannot figure if it is the sound of an electric discharge (arcing), the sound of some limit switch (unlikely) or the sound of some thick grease "unsnapping" or separating from two surfaces. Pretty much the same conditions - normally it only happens once; might be able to get it to happen again later (but not within a few minutes). I think I have also heard this when retracting the roof, not just tilt-up. Been to the dealer but it never makes the noise when I'm trying to demonstrate. Also haven't been able to figure if it correlated to the relative humidity (though I have my suspicions). Annoying none the less...

thanks for responding. i printed out the sunroof diagram from acuraparts247.com and all the motors and switchs are near the rear window. their are cables that connect to the sunroof sliders, etc.

the sound seems to be coming from the sides of the sunroof area, not the back of the car. my service advisor said they took the headliner down, looked everything over, reasoned that the electrics are in the back so the sound must be mechanical. the zapping really didnt occur for them though so the advisor was trying to tell the tech what he heard when i showed him the problem earlier in the week. i canceled my appt yesterday because it really isnt happening much anymore, and figured I would know more by auguest when my oil change is due to look further into it. another board member had an appt july 5th with the same problem and im waiting to hear from him.
