So this is a new one to me...Ceiling ambient light out

Has anyone else's blue light in ceiling near the homelink gone out. I just noticed my was out tonight. It sucks...I love that ambient lighting.

I only have 14K miles on my car and don't do a lot of night driving. Could it have burnt out already?

Thanks peeps

Is the light beneath the stereo out too, that is right above the first compartment?

Nope, that one works, and all the other dash lights are fine. It's just the light up top.

Only 14k miles. just bring it to your dealer. They have to replace it for free, its under 50K

I understand that.

I'm more curious as to why/what caused it to happen. Those LED bulbs are supposed to last a long time.

it might just be a bad LED. We all know LED's are supposed to last a very long time, but just like any other electrical part..... sometimes they just produce bad ones.

I agree, it might be just defective. I rarely hear the ambient light goes out on TSXs. If the LED still blows after you replace then it might be a bigger issue.
Sorry if I can't help you much.

I ahd the same thing happen in my car. The blue light near the homelink went out after about 2-3 months. Acura had to replace the whole homelink unit.

i like this as your problem....... You might have a faulty upper console and it works sometimes and not others. I would get that car into the dealer and get it replace under warrenty.

Mine has been out since I bought the car (Sept. 2003) and I didn't know there was an ambient light near the homelink in the first place...Took it to dealer to explain it, and they gave me some BS saying there isn't a LED there... Can anyone take pictures taking the cap off, and/or the actual ambient light working?

What a crock of s#*t! Go back and slap that service advisor. They should say, "yes sir Mr. jester2, looks like the LED went bad. Let me take care of that for you."

1) grab him by his balls and drag his ass to the TSX in the showroom
2) shove him inside the TSX
3) turn lights on
4) grab him by hair in back of head and shove his face up to the homelink
5) Ask if he sees a little blue light - if yes: tell him you want it
if no: continue to press his face up

or print this page out and let him read

This happenned to me. I just removed the cover on the dome light and turned the bulb a little bit. It turned back on and hasn't gone out since.

You might want to try that first before taking it into the dealer. Good luck

Here is the link to the parts for that component.

http://www.acuraparts247.com/sunnysi...All&vinsrch=no

I believe the part you would need is #9 in the picture. That has the ambient light and homelink buttons all in the same uit. But as you can see, #9 is missing from the parts price list. Not sure why though. I would print that page out and take it to the dealership.

Maybe not relevant but for interest sake I read an article on LED lights yesterday and apparently they should last a minimum of 20 years!!

Same thing happened to me a while ago. Sometimes the light would go on at night, sometimes it wouldn't. The entire console surrounding the blue led light needs to be replaced in that it is not a faulty bulb. I had it replaced by the dealer but be warned, make sure the dealer orders the right part b/c he ordered the non-navi version and my voice functions didn't work since the replacement part didn't have a mic connection. That is assuming you have a navi model TSX.

My bulb went out after about of month of owning my TSX. The dealer replaced the bulb and now it works. Now the console just rattles, thank you very much dealer guy. I asked the dealer to look at the rattle but they couldn't find it. The tech was nice enough to show me that you have to pop off the light covers and unscrew two small bolts to get to it, so I can fix it myself.
