Maint Req light
Maint Req light
K so I have googled around for a while looking for a answer, and I would like to just double check. I have a 05 6speed tsx with just about 100,5xx miles and the maint light is blinking ten times. From what I understand its just the car telling me to take it in for the 100k check up. But to be honest I didn't realize it would flash till after I had a little problem today. I stopped somewhere and quickly turned the car off, then went to stick the key to the 2nd position for the radio to be on. Well I did it so fast the car stayed on. This is when I realized that light was blinking? Is it just the 100k check up or could there be something worse? Thanks in advance..
All you have to do is turn the car off, hold the select/reset and as you are holding the select/reset button, turn the key to ignition II position, then keep holding the select reset button until the maint req light turns off. Once it turns off, start the car and the light will be gone. Hope this helps.

It's the button that protrudes from the dash (looking at the gauges, it's below the temperature gauge) on the LEFT side. The one you use to reset the trip odometer and to select the A or B trip odometer. And not that it makes any difference (cause there's nothing you can do about it), pushing it to reset the maintenance light will also reset the trip odo that is presently displayed (A or B).

Your car has a completely different system. The 04 and 05 TSX's have only a maintenance light that indicates maintenance is required every 10K miles. Starting in 06, a "Maintenance Minder" system was installed in the TSX. This has a display with 2 letter codes coupled with 5 number codes that indicate various items when they're in need of service. The reset procedure is in the owner's manual (along with a complete explanation of the maintenance minder codes), and is quite a bit more involved. RTFOM!
