engine reving problem

I'm having a problem with my 2003 TSX. When I am traveling at 40+mph the engine makes a higher rev sound than there should be. It's almost like one of the pistons is working faster than the others or maybe the transmission. The RPM guage doesn't show any change in revolution and the car seems to drive fine. But this rev sound is starting to get a bit louder.

Any ideas????

I think atomannj means 2004, right? But we all bought it in 2003.

I don't know if the following thread similar to your issue:

That's mechanically impossible.

What gear are you in? Since your tach doesn't show a change, maybe you're hearing gear noise. My advice is ask your dealer about it.

Hi atomannj
i think you are refering a high pitch noise from engine at rpm of 2000-4000??? if i am right, this is the intake noise, don't worry, nothing is wrong, the intake is sucking lots of air and it can be noisy!! someone told me Prelude also has it.....

I took the car to the Acura dealer. We found out the sound is coming from the rear wheel barings. They have ordered new tires and will replace the existing one.
