does anyone develop wrinkles on thier seats?
does anyone develop wrinkles on thier seats?
I noticed while getting in and out of the car, its a little higher than I prefer and I just kinda slip in there sometimes on top of the outer seat bolster. I guess thats what you would call the seat bottom side supports?
Anyways I noticed after a month of owning the car and getting in and out I seem to have developed 3 major wrinkles on this part of the seat. Nothing serious, just wrinkles. I keep the leather well conditioned so I dont expect any problems.
Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem or noticed this? Or if anyone else is experiencing any long term effects with this in their leather.
Also my handgun in the waistband seems to be eating into the leather from the kydex holster on the opposite side of the seat. So it looks like Im going to have to change how I get in and out of the car, as well as what I wear inside of it.

I had the same problem. The dealer told me I should condition the seats more. I told them I DO IT ONCE A WEEK 9 MONTHS A YR and they replaced the leather cover on the drivers seat. They said the would only do it once though. I had it replaced around 32,000 miles. Now at 51,000 the seat looks worn again.
Ive tried a few different types and brands. Meguires wipes are very oily and I wouldnt reccomend them. I then tried Meguires Gold Class in the bottle. This created a very soft and supple leather which I liked. No sheen or residue.
I also tried Lexol wipes and spray. I could tell the leather was soaking this stuff up, left a sheen, and slight residue, but can be buffed off anytime. Not as soft and smooth as the Meguires bottle, but I know Lexol does its job conditioning and protecting.
I recently tried Zymol Leather Creme conditioner from Target which was very nice. Left a very noticible sheen and residue. The seats are slippery now (2 weeks after). I also liked the smell of this product the most.
For now Ive decided Meguires Gold Class on the door arm rest and center console arm rest. Just because I can feel these areas directly against my skin and I love the soft smoothness this product creates. Makes the car leather feel like my $3,000 calf leather jacket.
For the seats, every 2 weeks will be a touch up with Lexol. Once a month will be Zymol. I figure I'll just adjust accordingly to how the product works on the material. Ive learned from somewhere Lexol is not to be applied to any fabric or stitching so I avoid that.
Is it possible to condition leather too much?

Anyway, isn't some wrinkling considered a normal look for a natural product like leather?
By the way, is the Armor All Leather Protectant any good? I just grabbed a bottle in a hurry when I was in a WalMart so that I would have something until I could do more research. And what is the difference between the spray protectants and the cream ones like this? Is it that the cream ones moisterize the leather? When should you use which?
