I just got my car back from the body shop. Not sure if those idiots did something to my a/c but when I use it, I hear like a farting noise coming out of my engine. Kinda like air coming out.

Any idea?

 

haha sorry but i read that and busted out laughing imagining what a farting car would be like. id say take it back to the bodyshop or dealership and tell them to figure out whats going on

 

I know, sounds stupid but it's the best way to describe the noise.


Maybe it's because I havn't used the AC for a while. I hope...

 

would it have anything to do with that vent that makes that clunking noise when you open and close car doors to help with cabin pressure?

Doesn't sound like it. I hear the noise every 5 minutes or so from the engine bay. Kinda like sounds like when the A/C system is sucking more air.

I'm going to call my local dealer. I just can't believe this sh*t is happening, especially after getting my car back from the body shop #@$#@#@ !!!

but forreal, what do you mean by knocking? from low octane gas? i dont think that has anything to do with it it...but i dunno could be wrong.

 

 

have you stopped to think, that maybe you actually are farting?

 

was it constant or every few minutes?

I think I'm having the same problem as you. I notice more often when I'm sitting at a light for 30 or more seconds, with the climate control on during a nice day. It only seems to do it when the AC kicks on or off. It kind of sounds like a meow or a valve creaking. I've taken it to the dealer and they said they couldn't replicate it but one of the service writers was trying to convince me that it's a normal noise. He said it's the A/c lines charging when the compressor kicks in. Personally, I feel that if it was normal, it would do it right off the bat, and that I could walk over to any used TSX and it should do it. It also varies in intensity. The other problem is that I have almost 48k on the car. I'm hoping that it picks up in intensity and how often it happens so I can drive it straight there and show them before my warranty is up.

Let me know if they solve it for you.

PS Try setting your climate control about 5-6 degrees less that what the temp says in the gauge cluster. This seems to be the sweet spot for me to have it occur.
