battery problem 06 TSX

After 3+ years of owning the TSX and 45k miles on the odom. The stock battery failed on me 2x. Took it to the dealer and was able to get it replaced under warranty.

This seems to be a common problem. My battery failed just a few weeks ago.

I also have an 06' TSX, 3 + years old and 36,000 miles on it. My battery had to be charged 3 times in the past 2 years. Acura did check it 6 months ago. They said it's ok. Today I had an A service and guess what? They told me my battery failed the test and they replaced the battery for free...Even if the battery is not the greatest (too small) if I get another 3 years out of it, that's great.

Wait so if battery dies before warranty expires, dealer can replace it free of charge?

I too had my battery replaced by the dealer two days ago under warranty. It was very sluggish starting up and had them check it out at my A1 servicing.

I have a 06 TSX auto with Nav.

Yes...but...only during the first 2 years, after that labor and parts are prorated for the next 2...hell of a deal, huh?

It's these crappy OEM batteries Honda is using!

No, that's not true. My Tsx is 3 + years old. I when in for an A service. The dealership checked my battery and replaced it for free. I did not pay for prorated parts or labor. I do think it is a hell of a good deal for me. And it my be a crappy OEM battery. But if I get another 3 years out of it, I will be happy.

Silly me, my battery died earlier this year (under extended warranty), it never occurred to me to check that the battery was covered. I just bought a better-than-OEM battery at Costco, with a 48-month warranty. I really didn't want another cheapo Honda battery.

Yeah it is very annoying to have a working battery one minute and an immobile car the next.

I'd rather get a free battery, no matter if it's crappy. At least I didn't pay anything for it other than the time waiting for the dealer to install it.
