6MT Clutch Squeak solution...

If anyone has a successful solution for Clutch Squeak issue?

Please recommend a Service Center in New Jersey area. I am tired after more than 5 visits and one Cylinder change...the problem still not fixed

Thanks.

Stay tuned to the huge thread (started by me) that deals with this issue. As of today I still think there is no solution, as the new MC they're installing (if I recall correctly) is the same P/N as the old design MC. Dealers are told to just change it and hope the customer doesn't feel the problem come back.

I agree. My 2004 has (and had) the same problem. Just got it back from the dealer, it currently doesn't squeak, but this is the second "fix" for the same "problem". My dealer has been okay (also got the passenger headlight changed, and have to take it back for the driver seat moving). We'll see how long this "fix" to the clutch pedal lasts.

mine came back after 6 months with 12K miles..........it seems that even this modified unit isn't a full solution. it seems to come back quicker if you do a lot of stop start driving when the engine bay is hot..

The creaking/clicking is annoying, but as far as I can tell, it does not affect clutch performance. Mine comes and goes, and right now it's creaking a bit. Seems somewhat dependent on the weather.

The best fix may be just to ignore it.

I bought a can of spray lube. So far it's been about 2 months since I heard anything. It was really bad at one point.

When it was humid out, it was the worst.

Yup, but some dealers, like the one near me, are very resistant to changing out anything, claiming the clutch works fine (which it does).

Since I've had this car, I've really come to despise dealers. They seem to spend more time trying to get out of fixing things than just going ahead and doing it.

i had my MC changed out 4K miles ago, and no recurrence. the dealer said they broke a "pin" while reinstalling, so i had to wait a couple extra days till the part they broke came in. it may be too early to tell, but i'm wondering if this "pin" has anything to do with it.

The pin is just a locking pin to hold the shaft to the pedal assembly.
