04tsx Drivers window only works when door is open

Ive searched, only finding problems on window switch not working at all.

My 04 tsx drivers side front window will only roll up and down when the door is opened two notches. When it is closed or open to the first notch the drivers window will not work. All the other switches work regardless of if the door is open or not.

I know electronics either work or they don't in most cases, which is why I suspect a wire is being pinched or something when the door is closed.

Our regular mechanic, not dealer, said we should just order a new switch.

Any ideas? Would rather not buy a new switch assembly.

This is probably faulty wiring between the door/chassis. I had this same problem with my Civic. It turned out to be a couple broken wires that'd connect at a certain angle of the door being opened. I had to pull my fender and cut and splice a new plug onto the chassis harness, fixed the problem.

Weird on a newer car though. Anything on the carfax to suggest flood damage?
