04 TSX transmission/clutch problems
So I just got this tsx and it has been grinding going into second gear. I have performed a couple of things to try and trick it but the problem is not resolving. Here is a list of what I have done in order
First - Drained the tranny fluid and replaced it with GM synchromesh friction modified fluid. Problem still remained
Second - I bled the clutch line and replaced the clutch fluid. Problem still remained.
Third - I thought maybe I had a faulty slave or master cylinder and there wasnt enough pressure to depress the lever on the tranny enough so I place a small nut at the end of the slave cylinder rod working as an extension of sorts. After this I bled the line again and went for a drive and it was perfect. So now I am thinking it is one of the cylinders so I order both the slave and CMC from Acura. The next day I drive the car and the grind comes back and it is still hard to put into first.
**NOTE** There was a couple days that passed before the CMC and slave came in and I continued to drive the car. I noticed when I am driving if I pump the clutch pedal a few times before shifting into second I would get zero grinds. I have to put it into second very slowly and I can feel a little resistance and then feel it falling into the gear. If I shift too fast it grinds.
Fourth - The replaced both the CMC and the slave with new ones from Acura. I bled the lines. Problem still remained. I adjusted the clutch pedal slightly and drove the car and it was perfect. However, the next day the problem was back again but this time I feel resistance going into third gear as well.
Does it sound like it could be the clutch/pressure plate?
Is it possible I have a bad clutch line? It isnt leaking BTW
Is it synchros?

So i welded the cracks and the problem completely went away
A few weeks later my car is sometimes popping out of second gear when I am driving and once in a while still grinding and not wanting to go into gear. I am thinking one of my welds must not be holding up
So I ordered a replacement pedal and am going to take it to someone to get welded and install it.
Question: anyone know where I can get info on what to adjust the clutch to?

You can't adjust clutch movement (self adjusting per manual), but can adjust clutch free play (slack when pedal is pressed). A shop manual describes the procedure.
Grinding only in one gear (2nd) sounds like worn out synchronizer.
good luck
