Raptor Shift Light Installed

Since I have my share of bouncing off the rev limiter, I have decided to try out this light to see if if helps or not. The light is by Raptor Performance and installation only requires connecting 3 wires (power +, - and rpm). http://www.raptorperformance.com

What is included:
1 light
2 mounts (one lower profile, one higher profile)
2 caps (one black and one to match light color)
Instructions (how to set rpm and cylinders)

Light Mount One nut and bolt to the top cover

Wire Connectors I got some female and mate connectors from Radio Shack

Completed Unit Note the adjustment on top for rpm and cylinder selection

ECU Connection The ECU has a rpm pin but not functional. I used the ICM #4 coil pack signal (brown wire row #2 in the pic)

Installation Completed

Power-on Self Test

Looks cool Johnny! but i'm a little lost by the video. Does the light come on when you redline it?

The lights blink rapidly when the engine reaches to the preset rpm on the light.

Very nice Johnny! I've been running a shift light for a few months now. It's an add on to the Brockway R920. I have it set to blink at 6K RPMs and it's pretty handy. I mounted mine up at the top left corner of the windshield. It's a little bright for my tastes so I'm thinking about moving it though. I like the location you picked, I might move mine there too. I also like the blue color you have. Mine is orange, and it doesn't match...haha

Thanks guys! I picked this one because of the compact size, color selections, integrated electronics, compatibility, and ease of installation. I added the interface connectors so I have the option to easily move it to another car by installing a matching connector.

Have you thought about use the double sided tape or something? driling a hole on dash is kind of hard to deal with later on when you are selling your car.

^^
Tape is not strong enough. It's just a tiny hole which I can plug or simply replace the top cover for $9.16.

The pics are not showing, I wanted to install this shift light as well. Tried your method but the brown wire in the ecm is not working for me. Also I tried the instructions for the 4 cylinder selection raptor has on their instructions, but you might have a different set up. Also my car is 07.

thanks..
