I just popped my cherry by installing a Comptech Icebox on my 06 MT. I like the sound and I have noticed better throttle response and a slight increase in horsepower so overall, very satisfied and I can see how this stuff gets addicting. Next up is the Hondata.
Some advice to anyone else thinking of installing the Icebox though. I'm not sure this mod is worth 160 bucks when you can buy the stuff at Home Depot for 10 bucks. Seriously. Go buy some dryer venting or pvc pipe and a K&N filter and voila. You got your self a Comptech Icebox. Or am I missing something here?

Congrats on the install!
Haha, I did that on my integra, but you just feel better with the Icebox. I felt pretty cheap knowing that I had dryer hose as an intake component.
not saying the TSX is a Ferrari, but $160 isn't gonna hurt in the long run.

The Comptech lid is also bigger than the OEM lid, but yeah. That's the only part that different. That and the snorkel, but like you said you can buy something else and use your own creativity to mount it.

Did you have to use weatherstripping or something to seal the lid when using the K&N?
Although they look a little cheap, you can get some chrome-looking plastic parts at Pep Boys. They also have a wide, flared intake port. Kinda expensive, but still a lot less than $160.

Don't discount the effect of the larger lid. It allows for a larger volume of air, post air filter, to be available when you nail the throttle and, IMHO, contributes to the improved throttle response.
