Headers typically do not change the sound profile of the car. If you have the stock system from the catalytic converter, resonators, piping, and the mufflers, it should sound the same, regardless of headers.

That being said, save up for the comptech headers- DC headers have crappy build quality. As a consumer, you should not give them your money to keep making crappy stuff.

But doesn't the DC Header give a lot more gains for the money? And didn't they fix the weld problem?

I would go DC Header due to its price to performance.

Someone on this board had recently gotten the new-build DC Header that were supposed to solve the problems. However, it ended up cracking at the flex joint, I believe. So they may have fixed the weld problem, but it still has problems. Forgive me, Im too tired to do a search, but it was fairly recent and might still be listed in the Parts and performance section.

Also, I've had an integra that I was making the same decision for, DC or Comptech headers (amongst others). After doing some research, it seems other DC sports products have had problems as well. So sure, price to performance DC wins out, but a used V8 Camaro also has better price to performance than our TSXs if that is all you want.

Since tnl_tsx is price concious, I say do it right the first time, so you won't be spending money repairing your header or replacing it with a Comptech when it breaks. My .

Searched around, here is the link on that NEW DC header that broke at the braided portion. I would get that hiss checked out if I were you, this is not normal for a properly sealed header. It seems the guy that had the broken header also had a hiss...

Well to my knowledge the hiss is normal to a certain extent and it seems pretty common across the board that everyone who has bought the dc sports has had some hiss...the example you gave seems more excessive than the normal hiss you get with the header...

Where can I get a deal like this?
I got mine at the local weekly car meet up (street races)...a girl with an integra was going to do a swap but decided to go boost instead and noticed the TSX and was just trying to get rid of it...and I just so happened to be in the market at the same time and couldnt pass up $100 less than the best online price I could find...

I still can't see that this is normal, or be convinced that this shouldbe normal. However, this topic has had many threads dedicated to it, so I find myself agreeing with most that:

DC = power gains but luck of the draw for reliability
Comptech = smaller power gains but solid construction and materials

DC could just end this by making a TIG welded SS version of their header. At present, I still think the Comptech is the way to go cuz DC can't fix the noted problems....I just can't buy the shoddy construction from a company that can't get their sheit straight.
