Get an optima if you really want to get a new battery. Those things ROCK~! I've got one in my 4runner and crip starts everytime. Plus it's got like a no questions asked warranty. No acid to leak out or anything.

I got the redtop at costco for $99. If you want a deep cycle one, get the yellow top.

what they don't mention is that it's like tires...pro-rated so by year 8 you might get 8 dollars.

A "regular" battery is not designed to be drained down by more than a little bit. So for example, if you are parked with the engine off, and you have your radio on for a few hours. It will drain the battery down pretty low. Taken you can start the engine with the remaining voltage, you should be fine. But if it's a regular battery you have under the hood, doing this lots of times will damage the battery. It will not long be able to hold a charge as long.

A deep cycle is designed to drain further down than the regular batteries without damage. It's useful for boating where often times youa re running electrical devices with the engine off. It's also useful for people that like to offroad since the electrical winches use a lot of power.

The TSX is designed that you can leave the lights on when you shut it off doesn't that put a big load on the battery over time?

Nah... the HID's are actually veru low wattage. You'd be surprised. Your typical halogen headlight uses 55-65 watts depending on highbeam or lowbeam.
Your HID's only use 35watts when they are runningl. So... even less strain on battery than halogens. Also, the lights only stay on for about 15 seconds... so no harm really.
