Don't worry about OTD price...

In California, SF Bay Area other fees are:
Doc fee =$45
Sales Tax 8.5% (around $2,300)
Licence and Registration fees (around $200 - $250)
Car Tire Fee $8.75
I can't afford to live in cali. The car might be cheaper but an apt is a shitload.

paying

I just got my TSX in SW ohio for $28,400, '06 6 speed with the NAVI. You could try carsdirect or edmunds and get a dealer to quote it online. the above price is the dealer invoice plus shipping ($615) plus a 200 bucks for the dealer.
Dont worry the dealer is still making money on it anyway (3% of the list)
shop around its worth it. I hope to pic it up today or monday.
hard part is finding the right color as supplies are really getting low for end of model year.
good luck

I am going out to the orland park dealership today, I will let you know what they quote me there. I am interested to hear if mcgrath will really beat the 28200 by 5%, please post if you find out! When are you buying?

i called westmont today and they told me that they didnt have the carbon color, he sold it.

So I went to mcgrath in morton grove and got it for 28181.

5 speed Auto
Navigation
Protection Package
-Wheel Locks
-Slash Guards
-All-Season Mats.

I think i got a good price.

If you want to talk to the guy I talked to let me know.

Invoice is like 28950 with protection package so i didnt pay much over invoice, which is good.

THe mcgrath in westmont said 5% difference between msrp and the price another dealer gives you. So 30505- 28180 = 2325 (5% of that) = 116.25 not really worth the trip. I get free car washes at Mcgrath mg so im satisfied with my purchase.

Yeah, I am going to have to pay that wonderful 9% myself (the 30,500 includes that), so i guess if i get them to throw in the all season mats/wheel locks, i am getting a good price.

Looking for an 06 TSX w/ nav in the Dallas Fort Worth area. My magic price is $27,300. Heh, as to if it's plausible... we'll see. Taking a trip down there and am going to shop around. I've had poor experiences with Acura dealers here in the KC area. My impression from what I've read from here and edmunds, most of the guys getting the lowest prices on the TSX navi's are in Cali.

PS. TTL here in Kansas are payed at the courthouse.

My parents pay 369/mo (tax included) lease on my 2006 white TSX with navigation, 2k down at signing (including fees, tax, tags). 36 mo lease, 12k/yr. My dad's friend worked at the BMW dealer near my house and haggled it to hell for us. Is that a good deal?

this actually sounds like a decent lease to me (and as most members here know, i hate leases).

am i missing some sort of catch? there's got to be more to this right?

i know it's only a 12k mile lease, but that still sounds pretty good. (i'm approaching 11,500 miles this week and it's 7 months exactly).

Ok go for it... If you have an extra $5,000. I don't think you can get an 2006 TL with NAV for $27,000 That's the going price for a 2006 TSX with NAV. HP isn't everything... the TSX has sports-carlike handling with a suspension that is track-tuned to reduce lift, dive and body roll. TL is not even close to the handling of a TSX.

2006 Acura TL 6-Spd MT w/ Performance Tires/Nav System
Invoice Price:$32,387

I just purchased an auto NBP with nav for $27,677 + TTL from Los Gatos Acura. I went to Stevens Creek hoping to get the $27,477, but they had just sold color 2 hours before I got there. Dealer also threw in the wheel locks and all weather mats.

$27,677 + TTL is a great price for a 2006 TL with NAV! That's about 14% under invoice you the man! Why are you on the TSX Forum? You really wanted a TSX!

27,627 for a TSX w/ NAV? Does this price include the $615 desination charge? I live in central NJ and everyone in the area quoted me in the $28,200 - $28,600 range (including destination).

As a side note, is the destination charge negotiable? Or is that something that will be factored into the price 99% of the time? Any thoughts/comments are appreciated.

yeah, that includes the $615 destination charge. It came out to $30,260 OTD. California has high sales taxes =P

amazing how the prices have changed in 7 months. i was very happy to get the car for $28,300 in NJ in december 2005. that was one of the best prices out there at the time. then the california guys started posting a month or two later, and for some reason the dealers out there are giving them away (granted it's 3% difference in tax, so it ends up being nearly the same in the end).

are other cars also discounted heavily in california? this cannot be unique to the TSX.

I'm assuming you're talking about w/ Nav. But wow, thats an amazing price for December 05. I've been looking and looking here in the midwest and no one will even touch 28K. (Dallas Fort Worth, Kansas City) . They've all let me walk after offering it. Any tips? If all else fails, I'll just roll down to the Honda dealership and pick up an Accord .. oh well

THe mcgrath in westmont said 5% difference between msrp and the price another dealer gives you. So 30505- 28180 = 2325 (5% of that) = 116.25 not really worth the trip. I get free car washes at Mcgrath mg so im satisfied with my purchase.

there's the 5% catch, sorry didnt get to this post yet.

and i have some advice for people on the protection package:

-i know splash guards are a matter of taste, but i think they're fugly on the TSX. i have none, and no scratches after 11,500 miles, so i don't buy that they protect anything - but it's your choice
- wheel locks are useless, unless the price of the protection package gave you these for free, then don't get it, because if you search around, you'll find a story about how someone had their wheels lock up on them because the wheel locks didnt work properly, did some damage
- all season mats - priceless.

"Invoice is like 28950 with protection package so i didnt pay much over invoice, which is good."

27,257 is invoice
615 is destination
-------------------
27,871 is invoice + destination, so ther'es an extra $1,080 in there minus your $200 for the dealer, what's the other $880? is there a typo somewhere?

this is not fair to say at all that $27,000 is the going price for a TSX with nav. i'm sure if you average out the people who posted prices, it'd be closer to $28,000.

and we're talking about people who were smart enough to do research and join acurazine, which are probably the people getting the best deals in the country if you think about it.

while i think the TSX is a great deal over a TL, the difference is definitely not $5,000 (especially when they discount them much more than the TSX it appears. dunno about the 2006 model though)

mdm, where you shopping? i paid $28,300 at open road acura, and that was in december before the first allotment was even on a lot in NJ. i think you can do better (i also paid like a $200 documentation fee).

i think destination is pretty standard.

if i were you i'd shop your lowest quote around to a couple dealers (bridgewater was my second choice, but open road had my color on the lot, instead of having to wait for it, their service department is top not too). park ave acura seems to have nice people as well. i don't know what part of NJ you're in, but i think you can demand it for about $28,000 tops, including destination and maybe plus a doc fee of around $200.

also, try to get something like the all season mats and trunk tray thrown in to your price. contact me in private msg if you want more details about open road. my salesman helped me out and i don't hesitate to kick him some business.

yes, sorry, i keep forgetting with NAV. i should include my signature more often when i chime in on this thread, given i posted on like, page 10. $28,300 was a great price at the time and i think overall still is a good price.

here's what i would do, call up a couple internet managers and ask them if they have any 2006 TSXs on the lot for sale, don't get into color at all (i dont know how many you've talked to already, but if they got you down you could have a hard time).

then, i would casually ask what they're selling them for, maybe request a few internet quotes. take the lowest quote you get, and shop that around to the other dealers. maybe find one salesman you like, and tell him, "i really don't think i should pay more than $28,000 for this car as i've done my research, and that's the price it's going for in many places. if he doesn't budge and depending on what he offers, maybe say something like, "ok, i'll go $28,250, but that's it and i want the alll season mats" (or something that you want thrown in, accessories are cheap and mostly profit, but they can pretend like they are giving you something that is $130 for free).

i saw that too. it's cause two people who's names started with T posted near each other, one was talking about getting a TL for $5,000 more, then the second said "i paid 27xxx for mine"

and it all started, i read it like 10 times before i figured out it was a different posted. duh.

First post!

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here (seems like a great community). I'm from Richmond, VA and about to purchase my first Acura tomorrow morning from Criswell Acura in Annapolis MD. I currently drive, and have driven for 7 years, a 95 Honda Accord LX. Durring that time, however, I have owned both a '94 Mazda RX-7 as well as a 350WHP '93 RX-7. They were my babies, but I decided to sell in order to get something more luxurious rather than raw power. So here is what I will be buying tomorrow and my story of how I got the price shall follow...

I am purchasing my '06 TSX 5spd AT Navi with Royal Blue Pearl and Ebony interior for $27,876 + $100 Proc Fee + TTL. After taxes (like <4% in VA) and tags the OTD is going to be around $28,700 give or take a couple hundred. According to cars.com the invoice on this car with navi is $27,877. So when this salesman offered me $27,876 ($1 under invoice) I said yes pretty quickly. Any deal you can get on an Acura is like money in the bank.

I started out looking on the lot at Crown Acurar here in Richmond, VA. The service and level of knowledge about the car was great, however they were not willing to lower the cost of the car into my price range. That topped with the fact that the color combo I wanted was not even on their lot ($600 to get it) led me to search around up north for a better deal. In the end I am saving about $2500 off of what I would have spent in Richmond.

Hello all, I'm going to be relocating to Hawaii in a few weeks and I have been looking for a '06 TSX for quite a while now. Im sure some of you are familiar with Hawaii only having ONE Acura dealership..yes you know what that means, there's no comptetition so basically it makes bargaining hella difficult. I heard that alot of people buy from the mainland (Cali) and just have it shipped to Hawaii. By any chance does someone here have some updated info on the prices in Los Angeles. Anyone who might have bought their '06 Navi TSX in LA recently??

hello all. i purchased a RBP/parchment 06 tsx 5at non-nav last week from harry vlahos at acura of boston. he was great to work with (unlike what i have heard about some of the other sales folks there). i asked for the car with all season mats, trunk cargo net (installed), and splash guards (installed). $27,115 + 1,355.75 mass tax + 5 title prep + 294.75 documentation fee (screen printed on the invoice) + 84.50 registration and plates = $28,855 out the door. they offered me only $500 for my trade in so i sold it on craigslist for more than three times that.

picked it up tonight and it had only 3 miles on it!

I've watched their prices for a while and have noticed that usually have some pretty good deals, when I'm ready to buy, I think this is where I will go
